Yes on the App Store: developers can edit or delete a response in App Store Connect. On Google Play, developers can edit a reply, but Google’s official documentation reviewed here does not describe a way to delete one. A Google Play Product Expert said in a 2024 community answer that replies cannot be deleted; treat that as community guidance, not an official Google guarantee.

Edit or delete an App Store response
- Sign in to App Store Connect, select your app, then open Ratings and Reviews.
- Select the platform containing the review and find the review you want to address.
- To revise the response, choose Edit Response, change the text, and save. Apple says the person editing does not have to be the person who originally wrote the response.
- To remove it, choose Edit Response, then Delete Response.
The required App Store Connect role is Account Holder, Admin, or Customer Support. A review can have at most one response, and only one response per review appears on the product page. Changes may take up to 24 hours to appear; a response awaiting publication is shown as pending in App Store Connect, and an edited response is marked as edited. Apple also documents response deletion through its App Store Connect API.

Edit a Google Play reply
- In Play Console, open Ratings and reviews > Reviews, then locate the review.
- Edit the text in the Your reply field and publish the update.
- In the Play Console app, select the review, tap Reply, edit the text, and send it.
Your account needs the Reply to reviews permission. Google says the reviewer receives a push notification and email after a reply. Google’s official instructions say replies can be edited at any time. They and the reviewed API reference do not describe a way to delete a developer reply.

A Google Play Product Expert answered a community question on April 29, 2024: “You won’t be able to delete reviews and replies.” The community page identifies the expert as not a Google employee, so this is useful corroboration but not an official Google policy statement. If the reply is inaccurate or needs correction, edit it in Play Console. If you believe the available options do not address your situation, consult current Google Play support rather than assuming a deletion option exists.

Write a better replacement reply
Before editing, make sure the revised response addresses the reviewer’s actual concern. Apple recommends concise, respectful, personalized replies, and says not to include personal information, marketing language, or spam. For download or billing issues, Apple directs developers to Apple Support; if a review is offensive or violates terms, Apple says to report a concern rather than reply. Apple’s response guidance.
Google advises developers to keep replies clear, relevant, valuable, and truthful, and to be respectful rather than using replies to solicit or promote. Google warns that rule violations may result in suspension of the app or developer account. Google’s reply guidance.
