Roblox states, “You must know the account password to change the email address.” It also says the previous address receives an alert; it does not specify when that alert arrives. See Roblox’s email-change instructions.
What to do if you cannot sign in
Recover access before trying to change the email. Roblox’s password-reset process sends instructions to the email currently associated with the account. If you cannot access that email, use any recovery option available on the account; do not assume you can change the address while locked out.

If the account has neither an email address nor a phone number available for recovery, Roblox says its self-service reset flow cannot reset the password. Contact Roblox Customer Support and explain the login problem. Roblox requires ownership verification before it resets an account or changes account information, so support may ask for information to confirm that you own it. See Roblox’s password-recovery guidance.
Recovery options for children and phone availability
For an account belonging to someone under 13, a parent can verify an email address as the account’s parental recovery email in Settings > Account Info. It can be a different address from the one used for the parent’s own linked Roblox account. Phone verification is available only in select countries; where it is unavailable, the phone-number field will not appear. Details are in Roblox’s email and phone guidance.

Protect the account after changing its email
Roblox recommends enabling 2-Step Verification (2SV) for added protection, and a verified email is required to enable it. Roblox supports several 2SV methods, but only one method can be selected at a time. Setting up a security key also requires authenticator-app 2SV. A physical security key, such as the YubiKey 5 or Google Titan Security Key named by Roblox, is optional—not a requirement for changing an email—and compatibility can depend on the browser, operating system, and device. See Roblox’s 2-Step Verification instructions.
Keep recovery methods available. Roblox says that if you lose your primary 2SV method, you may need two different verification methods on the account to recover access. Listed backup options include a phone number for eligible ages, a passkey, and saved backup codes.

Can you sign in with your email instead of a username?
Roblox supports signing in with a verified email in its browser and mobile apps. If the same email is associated with more than one username, you must sign in with a username instead. Email one-time codes are available only to some users. Never share a one-time code; Roblox says it will not contact you to ask for one. See Roblox’s email login guidance and its one-time-code instructions.
