Meshy describes this as a workflow, not a guarantee that every generated model will print successfully without changes.
What you need to print a Meshy model
Meshy creates the 3D model; a slicer and a compatible 3D printer handle the steps that turn it into a physical object. The slicer prepares the model for a particular printer and material, including its orientation, supports, and print settings.

Meshy lists slicers such as OrcaSlicer, Bambu Studio, and Cura. Its platform documentation says direct workspace integration with slicers is available to Pro members and above; otherwise, you can export a file and open it in compatible slicing software. Check and repair the mesh
Run Meshy’s printability check and repair for common topology problems, including non-manifold edges, degenerate faces, holes, and open boundaries. Meshy says repair modifies the geometry to make it watertight. Inspect the repaired result rather than assuming the correction preserved every feature as intended.

Check wall thickness and fragile details
Thin walls, narrow attachments, small details, and unstable bases can fail, disappear, or become difficult to print. Meshy’s general example minimum wall thicknesses are 1.2 mm for FDM, 0.5 mm for SLA/DLP, and 0.8 mm for SLS. For FDM, the appropriate thickness depends partly on nozzle diameter; the printer, material, and slicer guidance also matter.
Meshy says FDM overhangs above 45° need support and recommends a figurine base at least 3 mm thick. These are general recommendations, not universal guarantees for every machine, material, or model. If the slicer preview shows unsupported areas or a weak base, adjust the model, orientation, or supports before printing.

Set the intended physical size
Meshy uses centimetres as its scale unit. Check the exported model’s dimensions in your slicer and set the size you actually want; a generated model’s initial scale should not be treated as the finished print size. Scaling down can also make small features too thin to reproduce, while scaling up or using a higher-precision printer may help preserve details.

These recommendations are from Meshy’s printing guide and format guidance. A color-capable file alone does not ensure a color print: the slicer and printer must support the intended color or multi-material process.

From Meshy export to a physical print
- Generate for print use. In your prompt, describe a solid model without thin overhangs; Meshy suggests wording along the lines of “solid, printable, no thin overhangs.”
- Run the printability check and repair. Inspect the result for holes, fragile features, weak attachments, and a stable base.
- Confirm dimensions. Check the model’s size in the slicer and adjust it to the intended physical dimensions.
- Export the appropriate file. Choose STL for a single-color print or 3MF for a color or multi-material workflow.
- Slice and inspect the preview. Set orientation, supports, and printer-appropriate settings. Review the sliced layers for missing details, unsupported areas, or other visible problems.
- Print and evaluate. If the physical result exposes weak walls, unstable features, or lost detail, revise the geometry or print settings and try again.
The slicer and printer remain essential parts of the workflow: Meshy’s export is not itself a finished printer instruction file for every device.
Does Meshy guarantee every generated model will print?
No such guarantee is established by Meshy’s guidance. Its documentation describes a printability check, repair, scaling, export, slicing, and printing, while also cautioning that post-processing may be needed. The recommendations above are first-party engineering guidance; Meshy does not provide controlled print-success rates or independent validation for every generated model.

Can you sell prints made from Meshy models?
Printability and permission for commercial use are separate questions. Meshy’s pricing page says Free-plan outputs are licensed under CC BY 4.0 and paid plans include commercial-use rights. Check the current Meshy plan terms before selling prints or using a model commercially, including any attribution obligations that apply to your plan.
