The result depends on the target site: a mobile request does not create a mobile layout if the website has no separate mobile version.
How to capture a mobile or tablet layout with GrabzIt
Choose the rendering mode and browser width to match what you want to inspect. GrabzIt’s suggested widths are configuration guidance, not universal device standards.

Mobile capture in the JavaScript API
GrabzIt’s documented JavaScript example uses requestas: 1 and bwidth: 320 for a PNG capture. In other libraries, the corresponding setting may be named requestAs; use the spelling and accepted value documented for that client.

Tablet and breakpoint checks
For a tablet-sized capture, omit the mobile request and set the browser width to 768 pixels as a starting point. To test a site’s actual responsive breakpoints, use the exact width you need to inspect rather than assuming that 320 or 768 pixels represents every mobile or tablet device.
Why a mobile request may still show the standard site
A mobile request asks GrabzIt to request a mobile version; it does not guarantee that the site will serve one. GrabzIt cautions that the target must have a mobile version for the request to work as intended. If it does not, the standard website may appear instead. A width change alone can also leave the standard design in place when the site does not respond to that viewport.

Viewport size, output size, and full-page capture
Browser width controls the rendering window that drives responsive layout. Output image dimensions are separate settings, so changing the saved image’s dimensions is not the same as changing the viewport used to render the page.
For full-page capture, GrabzIt’s ASP.NET API documentation specifies BrowserHeight = -1 and OutputWidth = -1 and OutputHeight = -1 to capture the full page at browser scale. Check the equivalent option names in the client library you use; those ASP.NET property names should not be assumed to apply unchanged elsewhere. See GrabzIt’s capture options.

Troubleshooting responsive captures
- The result is still the desktop or standard layout: Confirm that mobile mode is requested as well as setting the width. If the site has no mobile version, GrabzIt says it displays the standard website.
- The page does not match the intended breakpoint: Set the browser width to the precise viewport you want to test. Do not rely on the suggested 320- or 768-pixel starting points when checking a different breakpoint.
- The image dimensions look wrong: Check browser viewport width separately from output width and height; they control different parts of the capture.
- The capture cuts off below the first screen: Check the full-page settings for your client library. For ASP.NET, GrabzIt documents a browser height of -1 and output width and height of -1 for full-page capture at browser scale.

Does changing only the browser width always produce a mobile layout?
No. A width change affects the viewport, but the target site must respond to it; GrabzIt says a mobile request only works as intended when the site has a mobile version.
