Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteNo—not with Cypress’s documented screenshot workflow. Cypress’s manual capture command, cy.screenshot(), runs inside a test. You can use it in either the interactive cypress open runner or the CLI’s cypress run, but you must run a spec containing that command. The reviewed Cypress API and CLI documentation do not describe a standalone screenshot-only command.
How to take a manual screenshot with Cypress
Add cy.screenshot() to a test after visiting or rendering the page you want to capture, then run that spec. Cypress documents the command as part of a test: cy.screenshot() API documentation.

What differs between cypress open and cypress run?
| Mode | Manual screenshot | Automatic screenshot on test failure | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
cypress open |
Yes, call cy.screenshot() in a test. |
No; Cypress does not automatically take failure screenshots in open mode. | Interactive local test development. |
cypress run |
Yes, call cy.screenshot() in a test. |
Yes, Cypress automatically captures a screenshot when a test fails. | CLI execution and CI. |
Automatic failure capture is separate from the manual command: it does not give you a way to capture an arbitrary page without running a test. The Cypress CLI reference documents CLI commands and spec execution; the reviewed documentation does not describe a screenshot-only CLI command.
What if you need a screenshot without a Cypress test?
Use a browser or screen-capture workflow designed for standalone capture. That is an alternative workflow, not a Cypress feature. The Cypress documentation establishes the documented in-test method; it does not rule out custom plugins, third-party tools, or external browser workflows.

Where to view screenshots from CI
Cypress documents Cypress Cloud as one way to view screenshots from CI runs. Your CI provider may also let you export or browse job artifacts. The documentation identifies these as viewing routes, but does not establish a general pricing or capability comparison between them.
Or skip the browser setup
If your goal is a website screenshot rather than a Cypress test artifact, ScreenshotNeo takes a capture with one GET request. Its API accepts a URL and returns an image or PDF. For example, using cURL:
