BrowserStack says its Screenshots service cannot access pages that require login credentials. Its documented exception is HTTP Basic Authentication, which it supports when the username and password are included in the URL. That exception is not a documented way to sign in through a normal website login form.
What BrowserStack Screenshots supports
BrowserStack’s Screenshots FAQ says pages requiring login credentials are inaccessible to the service, then states: “We currently support Basic HTTP Authentication.” Its example uses this URL format:
http://username:[email protected]
Use that format only for a site protected by HTTP Basic Authentication. It does not mean you should put ordinary website account credentials into a URL. The FAQ does not document conventional form sign-in, cookie or session reuse, SSO, or signing in through an already authenticated browser.
Basic Authentication is different from a website login form
HTTP Basic Authentication is a browser-level challenge that requests credentials for a protected resource. A conventional login page instead presents a form, processes the submitted credentials, and establishes a signed-in session. BrowserStack’s documented exception is specifically for the former.

The Screenshots FAQ does not display a product version, publication date, or geography, and does not explain support for other authentication mechanisms. So the reliable answer is limited: ordinary credential-protected pages are described as inaccessible, while Basic HTTP Authentication is supported in the documented URL format. Do not infer more than that from the FAQ.
Do not confuse Screenshots with BrowserStack’s other products
BrowserStack documents authentication features for Website Scanner and Percy, but those are separate products and do not establish that Screenshots can perform the same login workflows.

If you use Website Scanner, verify that login actually worked
Website Scanner’s authentication guide describes selectors for form fields and submit controls, as well as multipage login steps and supported options such as email OTP MFA for applicable configurations. It says a project can use only one authentication type, shared across pages in a scan. Its Basic Authentication setup is not supported on Safari. These are Website Scanner details, not a workaround for Screenshots.
BrowserStack’s Website Scanner troubleshooting guide cautions that a verification result with “No errors found” does not prove sign-in succeeded. Compare the final URL and resulting snapshot with the expected signed-in page. A missing-selector error can point to incorrect selectors; a page that does not change after sign-in can indicate incorrect credentials or a problem with the submit selector. The guide also recommends using sample accounts for testing.
