India is on YouTube’s list of locations where eligible creators can use Super Chat and Super Stickers. But being in India—or running a stream continuously—does not by itself make a channel or broadcast eligible. YouTube’s official guidance reviewed does not specify a separate rule for 24/7 streams.
What Super Chat does—and what it does not guarantee
Super Chat lets viewers pay to highlight a message in live chat. YouTube says the feature can be available on eligible live streams and Premieres, provided live chat is enabled. It is a fan-funding feature, not a promise that viewers will pay or a forecast of what a channel will earn.

YouTube’s Super Chat management help page says: “Creators receive 70% of Supers revenue that is confirmed by Google.” That share applies to confirmed Supers revenue; it does not guarantee that a particular cricket commentary stream will receive messages or earn a particular amount. Eligibility: check both the channel and the stream
Channel requirements
YouTube requires creators to participate in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), be at least 18, be in a location where the feature is available, and accept and comply with the relevant terms, including the Commerce Product Module. India is included in YouTube’s availability list. Check YouTube’s location and eligibility information for Supers.

The expanded YPP access tier listed for specified fan-funding features, including Super Chat, requires 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the past 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public watch hours on long-form videos in the past 365 days or 3 million qualified public Shorts views in the past 90 days. These thresholds describe an access tier; they are not the complete eligibility test. Other requirements still apply. YouTube’s YPP overview describes the tier.
Stream requirements and disqualifiers
Even if the channel has access, Super Chat is unavailable on a stream if it is age-restricted, unlisted or private, marked Made for Kids, associated with a YouTube Giving fundraiser, or has live chat or comments turned off. For a public cricket commentary broadcast, verify the settings for that specific stream rather than assuming that channel eligibility is enough.

- In YouTube Studio, open Earn and look for the Supers tab or card. YouTube says it appears when the creator has access.
- Confirm that the stream is public, not age-restricted or Made for Kids, and not running a YouTube Giving fundraiser.
- Keep live chat enabled, then check during the broadcast that viewers can use it.

Does 24/7 operation change the answer?
The official YouTube pages reviewed explain the usual eligibility rules for Super Chat on live streams and Premieres but do not set out a special rule for broadcasts that run continuously. That leaves the narrow 24/7 question unresolved by those pages: continuous operation is not stated as either an automatic qualification or an automatic disqualification. Apply the regular channel and stream requirements, and check the Supers status in YouTube Studio.

Cricket commentary: copyright is a separate risk
Super Chat eligibility does not grant permission to use match footage, broadcast audio, graphics, or other copyrighted material. Commentary over a live or continuous stream must still comply with YouTube’s copyright rules and applicable rights. Do not assume that adding original commentary makes third-party match footage or audio permissible, or that a stream’s Super Chat settings settle a copyright question.
Also keep the two questions separate: a stream can meet the listed Super Chat conditions while still facing a copyright claim or other policy issue. Review the rights to every element used in the broadcast and consult YouTube’s applicable policies before streaming.

Policy timing to keep in mind
YouTube’s monetization page says updated YPP terms take effect starting February 1, 2027, and creators should accept them by January 31, 2027 to continue fully monetizing. This is a forward-looking deadline; check YouTube’s current monetization policies and terms before relying on it.
