Yes—a Samsung Galaxy can join an Apple FaceTime call if someone using an Apple device creates and sends a FaceTime link. On the Samsung, open the link in the latest Chrome or Edge, enter your name, allow camera and microphone access if asked, and tap Join. The Apple host must admit you. You can join this way in a browser, but you cannot start an outgoing FaceTime call from Samsung.
How to join FaceTime on a Samsung phone
- Ask an Apple user for a FaceTime link. They can create one on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 15 or later, or on a Mac running macOS Monterey or later.
- Open the link on your Galaxy. Use the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for Android, with a strong Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection.
- Enter your name and continue. If the browser asks, allow access to the camera and microphone.
- Tap Join and wait. The Apple user hosting the call needs to admit you.
- Use the available call controls. You can mute or unmute, turn your camera on or off, switch cameras, and use full-screen mode. Group calls also support a grid layout.

What works—and what does not
You can join, but you cannot initiate FaceTime from Samsung
The Apple participant creates and shares the link; the Samsung participant joins through a browser. This is not a native FaceTime app for Android, and it does not let a Samsung user place an outgoing FaceTime call. Google’s Android Help also says outgoing FaceTime calls cannot be made in Chrome.

Some FaceTime features are unavailable on the web
Apple says SharePlay and screen sharing are not available when joining FaceTime on the web. The available controls include basic microphone and camera options, full-screen mode, camera switching, and grid layout for group calls.

There is a specific mainland China limitation
Apple says FaceTime links are not supported in mainland China, and creating a link is not supported on iPhone models purchased there. This is a specific documented exception, not a complete list of regional availability.

Google lists Android 5.0 and later and iOS 17 and later among Meet’s mobile operating-system requirements. Samsung says Meet is available on Galaxy devices, with some models integrating it into the Phone app; dialing behavior can vary by device and carrier. Other cross-platform options
Samsung also names WhatsApp, Facebook, Skype, and Snapchat as third-party video-call options. For calls involving a PC, it lists Google Chat, WhatsApp, Zoom, Webex, and Discord among video-chat choices. These are options, not a feature comparison or endorsement; check current platform support and whether your contacts already use the same service.

Do you need to buy anything?
No special hardware is indicated for joining a FaceTime link. The documented requirements are a compatible Samsung device, a current supported browser, an internet connection, and the link from an Apple user. Buying a phone accessory does not change who can create the FaceTime link or how the Samsung user joins.
