Buzz Hosting in 2026: Which VPS Should You Choose?

Compare the two eligible VPS options for Buzz by Block, what setup each involves, and the server resources Cybernews reports for hosting it.

For hosting Buzz by Block, the right VPS depends on how much setup and server administration you want to handle. A comparison updated by Cybernews on August 26, 2026, names Bluehost for experienced users seeking a lower entry price, and DigitalOcean for developers who want usage-based billing and room to scale. Its top-ranked provider is omitted here. These are dated editorial recommendations, not independently verified current offers.

What Buzz needs from a VPS

Cybernews reports that Buzz by Block requires Docker Compose and recommends Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Its stated minimum is 2 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM; its recommended allocation is 4 vCPU and 8 GB of RAM. You will also need a domain pointed at the VPS.

These are requirements reported in the Cybernews comparison, not independently confirmed specifications. Check Buzz’s current official deployment documentation before provisioning a server, especially if your workspace will have many users or agents.

How the two eligible VPS options differ

Provider Deployment path described by Cybernews Administration and billing Domain Article-listed starting price
Bluehost VPS No Buzz one-click deployment; install Docker Compose and configure it through the command line. Unmanaged setup suited to users comfortable administering a server. Cybernews says to obtain one separately. $4.69/month, listed in the article last updated August 26, 2026; not a verified October 2026 quote.
DigitalOcean Droplets Cybernews describes a Docker Droplet in the provider marketplace; confirm that the current image is suitable for Buzz. Usage-based billing and resource scaling, as described by Cybernews. Cybernews says to obtain one separately. $4.00/month, listed in the article last updated August 26, 2026; not a verified October 2026 quote.

The listed prices are introductory figures from the comparison, not like-for-like quotes for plans that meet Buzz’s recommended resources. Check current plan specifications, billing terms, renewal rates, and any additional charges before choosing.

Choose Bluehost if you want a lower listed entry price and can manage setup

Cybernews ranks Bluehost second and describes it as a budget-conscious unmanaged option. It does not provide the one-click Buzz deployment described for another provider in that comparison, so expect to install Docker Compose, configure the application, and maintain the server through command-line tools. This is a better fit if you already know how to administer a Linux VPS than if you want a guided installation.

The $4.69/month figure is Cybernews’s article-listed starting price, not confirmation that a currently available plan at that price meets Buzz’s minimum or recommended resources. Verify the plan’s CPU and memory, renewal price, domain costs, security features, and support terms directly before buying.

Choose DigitalOcean if usage-based billing and scaling matter more

Cybernews ranks DigitalOcean third and calls its VPS products Droplets. It describes a Docker Droplet in the marketplace and usage-based billing with the ability to scale resources. That makes it a candidate for developers who prefer to manage deployment themselves and adjust capacity as a workspace changes.

The comparison lists $4.00/month as a starting price, but this is not a current quote or proof that the corresponding Droplet meets Buzz’s requirements. Confirm the image’s contents and suitability, the billing granularity, and the cost of any backups or networking services you need. Budget separately for a domain.

Check these items before provisioning

  1. Confirm the deployment instructions. Check Buzz by Block’s current official documentation for its supported operating system, Docker Compose configuration, and any prerequisites.
  2. Match the server to the workload. Use the reported minimum of 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM only as a starting point; Cybernews recommends 4 vCPU and 8 GB RAM.
  3. Compare the full recurring cost. Check the plan’s renewal price, billing basis, domain expense, and any backup or networking charges instead of relying on an introductory figure.
  4. Decide how you will administer it. Both options described here require you to be comfortable with server setup; Cybernews says Bluehost’s path uses command-line installation, while its DigitalOcean option is a marketplace Docker image.
  5. Plan domain and security administration. Point a domain at the VPS and confirm how you will handle updates, backups, access controls, and ongoing maintenance.

How Cybernews arrived at its ranking

Cybernews says its 2026 comparison weighted ease of use at 30%, resources and features at 30%, security at 20%, and pricing at 20%. Those percentages describe that publisher’s methodology, not an independent test or a universal measure of which VPS is best. Its provider rankings, features, and prices may change.
