Built a Multiplayer Banking System: Inside a Player-Driven Banking Game

A look at VENOM’s banking game in development: branch upgrades, virtual INR flows, player-to-player banking and the reported software stack.

“Built a multi-player banking system” is how DEV Community author VENOM describes a game in development where players run banks, build branches, trade virtual currency and lend or park funds with other player-run banks. It is a game economy—not a real bank, real-world INR service or financial product.

How the in-game economy works

Branches generate income

VENOM describes branches as an early source of in-game income. The stated cost for a branch is 700k, though the post does not specify a currency unit for that figure. Each additional branch doubles the cost. Branch upgrades add 10% income, and upgrade costs double. These are the author’s reported game settings, not independently verified values. Currency moves between banks

The post describes a tradable in-game currency denominated in INR. Banks spend currency when transacting: the author says a bank spends 1% of the value flowing out and receives 1.5% of the value flowing in. Players can buy this currency through the in-game market. INR here describes the game’s currency; the post does not establish support for real-money transactions. DEV Community project post

Players can deal with other banks

Players can lend to other banks or park money with them, giving the economy its player-driven element. The post does not specify loan pricing, default handling, settlement rules or how risk is managed. DEV Community project post

What the author says powers the project

VENOM reports using Python for the backend, HTML, CSS and JavaScript for the frontend, and SQLite3 for storage. PostgreSQL is mentioned only as a possible future migration as the user base grows; the post does not say that migration has happened. DEV Community project post

Development status and what is not established

The author says the game is still in development and asks readers to review it: “It’s still in development please give review :)” The post gives no release date, adoption figures or deployment details. It also does not establish how the system handles simultaneous transactions, authentication, data integrity, backups or security testing, so it cannot support a claim that the project is production-ready or suitable for real money.
