A trustworthy medical Q&A site needs more than a Go backend: it needs a reviewable content model, clear clinical accountability, answers supported by visible evidence, and structured data that matches what each page actually does. Treat the Go architecture as an implementation choice; the editorial workflow and accurate page semantics are the foundations.
Choose the publishing model before the Go architecture
Two products can look like Q&A pages while having different editorial responsibilities—and different eligibility for Google’s QAPage structured data. Decide who can submit answers and who is accountable for reviewing them before designing page templates or markup.

| Decision | Community question page | Staff-authored medical answer |
|---|---|---|
| Who submits answers? | Users can submit answers to a question. | Staff publish the answer; users cannot submit alternative answers. |
| QAPage eligibility | May fit when the page focuses on one question and its actual user-submitted answers. | Does not fit when users cannot submit answers. |
| Editorial accountability | Designate how answers are reviewed and how any accepted-answer state reflects the actual page. | Identify the answer’s author and reviewer, and maintain a review process. |
| Operational design consideration | Plan for answer moderation and for markup to stay aligned with the page’s current answers. | Plan for editorial review, evidence updates, and revision history. |
The QAPage distinction follows Google’s eligibility rules; moderation and workflow choices are product-design considerations. A page that merely displays an editorial FAQ is not a community Q&A page just because it contains a question and answer.
Model evidence and review history as part of the content
A practical editorial model is a proposal, not a prescribed Go schema or medical standard. Connect each question to one or more answer revisions, the evidence references supporting important claims, the author and reviewer, publication and review dates, and a revision history. Keep those relationships in the CMS or content store so an editor can identify which claims may need attention when guidance changes.
#1 Best Overall
Separate the question from answer revisions
Give a question a stable identity and store answer revisions separately. That makes it possible to update an answer without losing its prior wording or the history of review. Preserve the relationship between each published answer and its source references rather than keeping citations in an unrelated note or an editor’s private files.
Make authorship and review visible
On the page, identify who wrote the answer and who reviewed it, using accurate role descriptions. Show a review date only when a review actually occurred. A changed URL, template, or layout is not by itself a content review.
Render the evidence for readers
Render the answer and its citations into ordinary user-visible HTML. Machine-readable markup should describe the page, not stand in for its explanation or evidence. This also gives readers a direct way to inspect the support for important medical claims.

The official guidance relevant here establishes content, markup, and digital-service principles; it does not validate a particular Go framework, database, hosting design, or security architecture. The following is an implementation proposal, not a sourced stack recommendation. Choose components against your team’s expertise, deployment constraints, maintainability, accessibility, and security requirements.
- Content storage: Store questions, answer revisions, evidence references, author and reviewer identities, publication and review dates, and revision history as connected records.
- Editorial workflow: Give authors and reviewers a way to draft, revise, review, and publish content. Keep review status distinct from publication status so a published answer is not mistaken for a recently reviewed one.
- Page rendering: Serve the answer, its visible evidence, authorship information, and applicable structured data together. Ensure the medical explanation is available as readable page content rather than relying on markup alone.
- Change management: When evidence or guidance changes, let editors locate affected answers and publish a new revision with an honest review date.
- Operational review: Evaluate framework, database, hosting, access controls, and deployment practices for the actual service and its data flows. The available guidance does not establish a winning Go stack.
Prefer a rendering approach that makes the main answer reliably available to users and search crawlers in the page output. That is an implementation goal, not a claim that a particular Go framework or rendering technique has been independently validated here.
Choose structured data that reflects the real page
Google’s documentation generally recommends JSON-LD when the site setup permits it. Microdata and RDFa are also supported when valid and used according to the relevant feature guidance. Whatever format you choose, mark up only content that is present and visible on the page.
Use QAPage only for eligible community pages
For a page focused on one question that allows user-submitted answers, QAPage may be appropriate. Its markup should represent the actual question and answers, including answer counts and accepted-answer status that match the page state. Do not apply it site-wide to staff-authored answers or editorial FAQ pages.

Schema.org provides the MedicalWebPage type for medical information pages. Its lastReviewed and reviewedBy properties can describe review accountability when the values are genuine and maintained. They do not replace visible authorship, evidence, or editorial review.
Schema.org medical types describe web content and relationships. They are not a clinical terminology system or a clinical data-exchange format. Schema.org explains that its medical schema targets web use cases rather than clinical markup or clinical data exchange. It can refer to controlled vocabularies such as MeSH, SNOMED, ICD, RxNorm, and UMLS, but that does not make Schema.org itself a controlled medical vocabulary.
Validate and monitor without promising a ranking outcome
- Choose markup based on the page’s actual purpose and Google’s feature-specific eligibility rules.
- Validate supported structured data with Google’s Rich Results Test.
- Inspect deployed pages and monitor eligible features in Search Console.
- Correct markup when the visible page changes, and keep review dates tied to actual reviews.
Validation does not guarantee that Google will display a rich result. The official guidance establishes how to describe eligible content, not a guaranteed increase in rankings or traffic.

Answer the question clearly and accurately
Put the useful answer in the main content, use plain-language headings, and support important medical claims with credible evidence readers can inspect. Google places particular emphasis on strong E-E-A-T for health and safety topics and expects YMYL information to be highly accurate and consistent with established expert consensus. Google also says E-E-A-T itself is not a specific ranking factor; it is not a promise that a particular author field, schema property, or SEO tactic will earn a ranking.
Use real reader language, then verify it
Use headings that state the question readers need answered. The exact search phrasing for this site has not been established, so treat candidate wording as a hypothesis until checked against first-party query and support data. Do not present guessed phrasing as measured search demand.

Keep page meaning and markup aligned
Use page-appropriate structured data rather than applying one template to every health page. Keep reviewer and modification information accurate, make the supporting content visible, and revisit pages when the underlying evidence changes. Structured data is a description of content, not a substitute for the work that makes that content reliable.
Make accessibility, privacy, and security product requirements
HHS general digital guidance supports accessible services, plain language, privacy, and security as design goals. Apply them to the whole service, including the question form, answer pages, and editorial tools—not only to the public-facing article template.
That general guidance does not determine whether a particular operator is subject to HIPAA or another law, what information it may collect, or which technical and contractual controls it must implement. Those questions depend on the operator, service, data flows, and jurisdiction. Obtain a separate legal and security assessment before making compliance claims or collecting sensitive health information.
