The best Umamusume: Pretty Derby support deck is the one that fits your trainee, scenario, race plan and available cards—not a universal top-six list. Career training uses six support slots, including a borrowed guest card, so choose a concentrated core for the stats you need, then use the remaining slot or slots to cover a real gap in skills or training.
What makes a support card worth a deck slot?
Rarity is only one part of a card’s value. A card can contribute through its training effects, friendship bonus, initial bond, specialty priority, skill hints and scenario effects. Its level and uncaps also matter. The practical question is how reliably it helps this trainee reach the required stats and skills, compared with what another card could do in the same slot.

Training decks have six support slots, and a borrowed guest card can fill a gap in your own roster. The trainee cannot be included as a support, and the BlueStacks guide describes restrictions against duplicate character cards and selecting the same card twice; check the current in-game deck rules if a selection is rejected. BlueStacks’ support-card guide discusses these deck basics alongside its recommendations.
How to build a deck for a career goal
- Set the target. Start with the trainee, scenario, running style, race distances and career objective. Identify the stats and skills the plan requires; stat priorities are not identical for every trainee or goal.
- Choose a concentrated core. Put most of the deck into two or three relevant stats rather than assigning one card to each stat for visual balance. Concentration can produce stronger stacked friendship sessions, though the right mix depends on the scenario and target.
- Plan for friendship training. Supports build bond as you train. Early sessions with multiple deck cards can help raise several bonds; later, bring bonded cards to their matching facilities to trigger friendship training. A card’s value depends partly on how well its bond and specialty line up with your training route.
- Check the details, not just the tier. Compare effects, skill hints, card level and uncaps, and whether the skills fit the trainee’s running style and race distance. A lower-ranked card can be a better fit if its skill pool and training contribution serve this build.
- Fill the largest gap. Use the borrowed guest and any remaining flexible slot to strengthen the weakest part of the plan. If stamina is already covered for a Sprint or Mile build, additional Speed or Power may help; Medium and Long plans may need more stamina or recovery coverage.
Why friendship sessions shape training strategy
A support card does not deliver its full training value simply by being in the deck. Bond must be raised, and friendship training occurs when the support is at its matching facility. That makes early-turn decisions consequential: a session with several supports can help develop bonds together, while later turns can capitalize on the resulting friendship opportunities.

Do not chase a crowded training session at the expense of a required career goal or a more urgent stat need. The deck is a way to increase the odds of useful training, not a guarantee that a particular facility will appear on a particular turn.
Choose skill cards around style and distance
Skills are part of a card’s slot value. First match the skill pool to the trainee’s running style, then consider whether the races demand stamina or recovery support. A card with attractive training effects may still be a poor choice if its hints do not suit the build.

The BlueStacks guide offers examples grouped by style, including Silence Suzuka, Twin Turbo, Seiun Sky, Smart Falcon and Mihono Bourbon for Front Runner-oriented skills; Special Week, Mejiro McQueen, El Condor Pasa and Tokai Teio for Pace Chaser-oriented pools; Eishin Flash, Vodka, Agnes Tachyon, Grass Wonder, Manhattan Cafe and Nice Nature for Late Surgers; and Hishi Amazon, Narita Taishin, Sweep Tosho and Gold Ship for End Closers. These are examples from that guide, not a current universal ranking. Check the card’s skill details in your game, since card pools and availability change.

The BlueStacks guide presents Kitasan Black (Fire at My Heels) as a broadly useful Speed card, Super Creek (Piece of Mind) for Swinging Maestro recovery, Fine Motion (Wave of Gratitude) for training effectiveness, and Light Hello as a scenario-linked Pal card for Grand Concert. Treat those as recommendations in that guide’s context, not official or timeless best-in-slot verdicts. The Grand Concert advice is scenario-specific; do not assume it applies unchanged to another scenario or later card pool. Read the guide’s card and scenario context.

“Best” also depends on whether the goal is completing Career or building for PvP. The Global build guide is explicitly PvP-focused, while the Global Reference tier list lets users select server, scenario, stat preset and deck context. Its rankings are computed scores for a selected setup, not an unconditional order for every account. Both resources were updated August 26, 2026, and are fan-made rather than official. Review the conditional support-card rankings and the Global PvP build guide with those limits in mind.
For Career, decent cards and scenario-specific stat boosts may be enough to meet goals; PvP calls for more deliberate, goal-specific stat planning. Do not carry a score or stat target from one server, scenario or deck preset into another without checking the assumptions behind it.

Check card availability before spending
Trainee and support-card Scouts are separate, and featured Scouts rotate. A static tier list cannot establish that a named card is on your regional server’s banner today.
