The Bugaboo Fox 5 Renew is a full-size stroller that converts from a bassinet to a reversible toddler seat. Bugaboo’s current U.S. listing shows $1,499.00 and describes puncture-proof wheels, suspension, and one-hand controls; those are manufacturer claims, not independent test findings. This review is specifically about the Fox 5 Renew, not the original Fox 5, whose published specifications differ by model and market.
What the Fox 5 Renew offers
Bugaboo presents the Fox 5 Renew as a two-in-one stroller for use with a bassinet or toddler seat. Its U.S. product page describes extra-large puncture-proof wheels and advanced suspension, alongside one-hand handlebar adjustment, seat recline, and folding. These descriptions establish what the manufacturer advertises, but not how the stroller steers or rides in independent testing.

The reversible seat has three recline positions and can extend by up to four inches, according to Bugaboo. The Renew’s bassinet is described as all-season, with breezy panels and a PureBreeze mattress featuring warm and mesh sides. Bugaboo also highlights a longer bassinet apron and a built-in apron pocket.
Fox 5 Renew and original Fox 5 are not interchangeable specifications
“Bugaboo Fox” can refer to different generations. The current U.S. product listing covered here is the Fox 5 Renew; Bugaboo separately lists the original Fox 5. Do not assume one model’s dimensions, weight, child limits, or regional features apply to the other.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For the original Fox 5, Bugaboo’s UK page lists a weight of 12.2 kg with the seat and 13 kg with the bassinet. It gives a use range from birth to approximately four years, up to 22 kg, and lists a 10 kg underseat basket. The page also describes car-seat compatibility with adapters and one- or two-piece fold options. These are UK-market original Fox 5 specifications, not verified Renew figures.
The Renew user guide surfaced by Bugaboo states a bassinet limit of up to 9 kg or 6 months. Check the current guide for your region and exact generation for applicable limits; do not substitute the original Fox 5 figures for Renew limits.

Bugaboo says the fabrics can be removed and machine washed according to the care instructions, then air dried thoroughly. It also says the modular design supports cleaning, repair, and recycling at end of life. Follow the current care instructions rather than assuming every component is machine washable.
Materials and the carbon-footprint claim
Bugaboo says the Renew uses recycled fabrics, bio-based material, and recycled aluminum. It also claims a 30% lower CO2 footprint compared with previous Bugaboo Fox models. The product page does not state the year of that claim or establish independent verification of its methodology, so treat it as Bugaboo’s comparison rather than an independently confirmed lifecycle result.

Accessories and compatibility
Bugaboo’s accessory catalog includes options such as a rain cover, organizer, seat liner, footmuff, newborn inlay, and wheeled board. Compatibility is specific to the accessory and stroller generation: the catalog includes a Fox 5 Renew compatibility option, but that does not make every Fox accessory suitable. Check the exact item’s compatibility list before ordering.

The available product information does not provide independent findings on steering, ride comfort, folding effort, long-term durability, or real-world drawbacks. If these factors determine your choice, compare the stroller in person or seek hands-on testing that identifies the exact generation. When comparing alternatives, check assembled weight and folded dimensions, how the fold fits your vehicle, child limits, basket capacity, car-seat adapter costs, warranty terms, and the total cost of accessories you need.

Bugaboo’s comparison page distinguishes Fox 5 from Fox 5 Renew and lists beach mode for Renew but not the original Fox 5. It also describes shared features including one-handed folding, a five-point harness, machine-washable fabrics, and a self-standing fold. The page is regional, so its prices and displayed ratings should not be treated as universal.
