Browshot’s reviewed public documentation does not specify a numeric per-account API request limit, such as requests per second or minute. It does publish batch size, concurrency, processing-load estimates, and private-server throughput—but these measure different things and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Does Browshot publish an API rate limit?
Not in the reviewed public documentation. Browshot documents its REST API as version 1.31 and uses API-key authentication, but its published materials do not give a per-account ceiling in API calls per second or minute. That does not establish that no limit exists; it means the reviewed public material does not state one. If your production design depends on a request-rate ceiling, ask Browshot to confirm the limit for your account and workload.

Keep these measures distinct:
- API-call rate: how often your client may call an endpoint. A numeric per-account limit is not stated in the reviewed material.
- Batch size: how many screenshot jobs a single API call can request.
- Concurrency: how many screenshots can be processed simultaneously under a stated service type.
- Throughput: how many screenshot requests a server may handle over an hour.
- Processing delay: an approximate wait associated with instance load.
How many screenshots can one API call request?
Browshot’s /api/v1/screenshot/multiple endpoint accepts up to 10 URLs and up to 10 instance IDs, allowing up to 100 screenshots in one API call. This is a maximum batch size, not a promise that all jobs run at once or a request-per-second allowance. The single-job endpoint is /api/v1/screenshot/create. See Browshot’s API documentation.
What concurrency and capacity figures does Browshot publish?
Browshot’s undated Features and Pricing page publishes the following figures. Its page does not define a workload benchmark or explain the conditions behind the private-server hourly figure, so confirm the applicable capacity with Browshot before sizing a production system.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Nintendo Switch 2’s new GameChat mode
- Auto-Light Balance: RightLight boosts brightness by up to 50%, reducing shadows so you look your best—compared to previous-generation Logitech webcams (1)
- Privacy with a Slide: The integrated webcam cover makes it easy to get total, reliable privacy when you're not on a video call
- Built-In Mic: The built-in microphone lets others hear you clearly during video calls
- Easy Plug-And-Play: The Brio 101 works with most video calling platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet—no hassle; it just works
| Service or option | Published figure | What the figure means—and does not mean |
|---|---|---|
| Premium instances | 100+ simultaneous screenshots per user | An advertised concurrency figure for premium instances; not a numeric API-call rate or a guarantee for every workload. |
| Private instances | 10–100 simultaneous screenshots per browser, described as guaranteed | A per-browser concurrency range; not a numeric API-call rate. |
| Private servers | Up to 10,000 screenshot requests per hour per server | A server-level throughput claim; not 10,000 API calls per hour per account, and not a statement of how many servers an account receives. |
| Multiple endpoint | Up to 100 screenshot jobs per API call | A maximum batch size; it does not establish how many jobs execute simultaneously. |
The concurrency and throughput figures above are Browshot’s published descriptions on its Features and Pricing page, which does not state a publication year.
How load affects estimated processing time
Browshot’s API documentation gives approximate wait expectations based on instance load: load below 1 means new screenshots are processed immediately; load from 1 to 2 corresponds to about two minutes; load from 2 to 3 corresponds to about four minutes. Subsequent load bands add about two minutes. These are approximate processing expectations, not API-call limits or guaranteed completion times. The documentation also lists job statuses such as in_process, finished, and error, and provides status lookup endpoints. An accepted request may therefore still be rendering; do not equate a fast API response with a completed screenshot.

- Compatible with Nintendo Switch 2’s new GameChat mode
- Crisp HD 720p/30 fps video calls with diagonal 55° field of view and auto light correction. Compatible with popular platforms including Skype and Zoom.
- The built-in noise-reducing mic makes sure your voice comes across clearly up to 1.5 meters away, even if you’re in busy surroundings.
- C270’s RightLight 2 feature adjusts to lighting conditions, producing brighter, contrasted images to help you look good in all your conference calls.
- The adjustable universal clip lets you attach the camera securely to your screen or laptop, or fold the clip and set the webcam on a shelf. You’re always ready for your next video call.
Practical workload planning
- Batch within the documented maximum. Use the multiple endpoint for up to 10 URLs and 10 instance IDs per call. Avoid assuming that a full batch will run concurrently.
- Choose an instance type for the workload. Premium and private options have different published concurrency descriptions. Confirm which capacity applies to your plan and use case.
- Track job status separately from submission. Handle
in_process,finished, anderroras distinct outcomes using the documented status flow. - Observe your integration’s actual behavior. Record response codes, job statuses, processing duration, and failures. The public documentation does not specify a universal safe polling interval or a rate-limit retry policy.
- Ask Browshot before relying on an unlisted ceiling. For a system that needs a defined requests-per-second limit, account-wide concurrency ceiling, or specific retry guidance, get confirmation for the intended plan and workload.
Simple API, redirects, and long-running pages
Browshot describes its simple API as slower than the complete API. Its documentation says page rendering can take up to two minutes and instructs clients to follow HTTP 302 or 307 redirects to avoid HTTP timeouts. Make sure your HTTP client follows those redirects and allows enough time for the capture flow; a client-side timeout is not proof that Browshot enforces an API rate limit. See the API documentation.
Free allowance and balance requirements are not rate limits
Browshot’s API documentation says the default free instance allows 100 free screenshots per month. It also says private and shared screenshot requests require a positive account balance. These are usage and account-balance conditions, not requests-per-second limits.

If your goal is to obtain screenshots without managing a browser-capture workflow, ScreenshotNeo is an alternative: it provides a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request returns an image or PDF. Cookie banners are accepted and removed, along with known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets, before capture; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with response headers reporting the page verdict and billing status. AI agents can use its MCP server tools for screenshots, page information, and PDF capture. The free plan includes 1,000 shots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
