Does it print double-sided automatically?
No. Brother UK identifies two-sided printing as manual. You can print on both sides by handling and reinserting the paper as directed by the printer or software, but the listing does not specify automatic duplex printing. If you frequently print long reports or need unattended double-sided output, manual handling is a meaningful limitation.
Which ink does the Brother DCP-J1260W use?
For the UK model, Brother identifies the LC521 family: separate black, cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges. This means you replace a colour only when that colour runs out, rather than replacing a combined colour cartridge. Brother’s UK materials state an approximate yield of 500 pages for the black cartridge and approximately 500 pages for each colour cartridge, under ISO/IEC 24711. Actual yield varies with the content and conditions of printing; the first cartridge installation uses extra ink to fill the printer’s delivery tubes, so its yield may differ. Brother’s product page says the supplied starter cartridges are rated for 200 black pages and 200 colour pages. Those are manufacturer-stated approximate yields, not a promise of a particular number of pages for an individual buyer. For replacements, look for Brother LC521 ink cartridges and confirm the model and market before ordering.

Paper handling and suitable use
The 150-sheet input and 50-sheet output capacities suit ordinary home printing better than a high-volume shared workflow. Brother lists plain, inkjet, glossy and recycled paper, along with common photo sizes. The maximum paper size is A4.
