The date previously announced for PS5 was also different: on November 11, 2025, Serafini Productions CEO Sebastiano Serafini described the planned window as Summer 2026. That was an earlier target and may have been superseded; the current PlayStation Store listing gives only 2026. The announcement is on the PlayStation Blog.

What kind of game is BrokenLore: ASCEND?
It is a first-person psychological horror game about Ren and Yui, rooftop climbers attempting a forbidden nighttime ascent of the fictional Elysium Tower. The Steam description calls the tower Japan’s tallest skyscraper; that is part of the game’s fictional premise, not a statement about a real building.
The pair share their climb through an online channel called SKYLIMIT. A supernatural Rokurokubi pursues them, while the story links their pursuit of fame to the fear of being forgotten or becoming irrelevant. Steam describes the play as a mix of realistic free-climbing, stealth, and horror: players cling to narrow ledges, hide from the entity, and plan their movements. These are storefront descriptions, not independent hands-on findings.

Serafini Productions describes BrokenLore as a single-player psychological-horror anthology: “each game stands alone yet feeds a larger mystery spanning the series.” In the November 11, 2025 PlayStation Blog announcement, Serafini said the series explores themes such as identity, shame, and pressure to be seen, using oppressive spaces, puzzles, and predator-prey chases. That framing suggests ASCEND is intended to work as a standalone story while contributing to a broader series mystery.
