Tom’s Guide reported on October 6, 2026, that Brightech Ambience Pro Solar Powered Outdoor String Lights were $24 at Amazon, down from a stated $44—a reported $20 saving, or 44% off. That is a dated deal report, not a confirmed live price; check Amazon’s current listing before buying.
What the reported $24 deal includes
The featured item is the solar-powered Ambience Pro version, not every Brightech string-light set. Tom’s Guide describes it as a 27-foot cord with 12 Edison-style lights. Its article also reports 5–6 hours of illumination after a full charge, automatic activation at dusk, shatterproof bulbs, wind resistance up to 50 mph, IP55 waterproofing, and temperature resistance down to −4°F. These are specifications reported by Tom’s Guide, not independently tested findings. Read the dated deal report.

Will solar string lights work without an outdoor outlet?
Yes: the Ambience Pro deal model is solar-powered, so it does not need to plug into an outdoor outlet for its operating power. Its panel does need a location with enough daylight to charge. Brightech says its solar sets charge during the day and switch on automatically at dusk; the actual light duration depends on charging conditions, so Tom’s Guide’s 5–6-hour figure should be treated as its reported specification rather than a guarantee for every yard.

The deal article says the panel can be mounted on a railing or staked into the ground. Choose a placement that gets useful sun and can be reached for installation and adjustment. If the available panel location is shaded, or you want steady brightness without relying on solar charging, consider a plug-in model instead. Brightech describes plug-in sets as providing steady brightness. Compare Brightech’s string-light range.

Check the exact model before comparing strands
Brightech’s catalog includes solar, plug-in and hybrid string lights, with different bulb styles and finishes. Length, light count and power source therefore vary by product; the Ambience Pro deal specifications should not be applied to the whole range. Brightech also says most strands can connect end-to-end only up to the maximum run specified for that individual product. Confirm the listing’s model, strand length, bulb type and connection limit before planning a larger installation.
Replacement panels and globes are model-specific
Brightech lists replacement solar panels and globes, but a replacement panel’s wattage and compatibility depend on the light set. The parts catalog distinguishes among 1W, 2W, 4W and 7W panels and identifies the strand families and lengths they fit. Match the replacement to the precise model rather than choosing by appearance or wattage alone. Check Brightech’s replacement-parts catalog.
