The Bosch PUJ611BB5E is a 60 cm Series 4 induction cooktop with three cooking positions—not four. Its 280 mm, 210 mm and 145 mm zones, precise cutout dimensions and 4.6 kW connected load are the key considerations before buying. Bosch’s Australian specifications describe its features, but do not establish independent cooking-performance results or current local pricing and stock.
What this review covers
This is the Australian-market PUJ611BB5E as documented in Bosch Home Appliances Australia’s official specification sheet. The model is a frameless, surface-mount built-in induction cooktop. Do not confuse it with the similarly named PUE611BB5E: that is a different, four-zone product. Check the full model suffix and the documentation for the appliance sold in your country; specifications and feature wording can vary by market.

The manufacturer calls the cooktop “fast, safe and energy-efficient,” but that is promotional wording rather than an independent test finding. The available product information does not establish hands-on comparative performance, current price, stock, or warranty terms.

Does the three-zone layout suit your cooking?
Bosch lists three simultaneous cooking positions: a 280 mm zone at rear left, a 145 mm zone at rear right, and a 210 mm zone at front right. The 280 mm position is the largest; the layout is not three identical zones and does not provide four separate positions.

| Position | Zone diameter | Standard power | Maximum power listed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rear left | 280 mm | 2.6 kW | 3.7 kW |
| Rear right | 145 mm | 1.4 kW | 2.2 kW |
| Front right | 210 mm | 2.2 kW | 3.7 kW |
These are Bosch Australia’s listed zone specifications, not a guarantee that every pan will heat evenly across its base. Check the diameter and base of the cookware you use most often against the zone layout, and confirm the manufacturer’s guidance for the exact pan. A large zone can be useful if your regular cookware needs it; a household that often cooks with four pans at once may prefer a four-zone layout.
Induction requires cookware compatible with induction. Bosch lists the HEZ9FE280 iron pan and the HEZ9SE030 two-pot-and-pan set and HEZ9SE060 six-piece set as accessories for this model in its Australian specification sheet. Confirm compatibility and local availability before choosing an accessory.

Controls, boost and safety features
Bosch specifies 17 power levels—nine main and eight intermediate—and TouchSelect controls. The listed functions include QuickStart, timers, Power Boost, ReStart, residual-heat indication, child lock and automatic safety shut-off. These are manufacturer-listed features; the specification sheet does not provide independent usability or cooking-speed test results.
Bosch’s Australian sheet uses two different descriptions of Power Boost. Its feature summary says “Up to 35% faster heating compared to highest power level”; the detailed product information describes “up to 50% more power than at the highest standard level.” Those are Bosch’s own formulations, not independent measurements, and they are not interchangeable claims about a verified cooking-time improvement.

- [Three Burners, Three Dishes At Once]: 800W, 600W, and 1200W burners run independently, so sauces, mains, and sides cook side by side. Multi-dish nights stop juggling pans, and every course lands on time.
- [Far Infrared Spreads The Heat Even]: Far infrared heating with quality elements transfers warmth evenly, so simmering, frying, and boiling all behave. Delicate sauces hold low, and water reaches a boil without the wait.
- [Nine Levels, Precise Full Command]: Nine adjustable heating levels plus 176-1202°F range tune every task, stew to saute to roast. The clear display reads your setting at a glance, and the 0-120 minute timer runs the clock.
- [Crystal Panel Shrugs Off Kitchen Life]: The one-piece black crystal panel resists moisture, high temperatures, and heavy pressure, wiping back to new. Boil-overs bead on the glass face, and the galvanized back plate backs it for years.
- [Safety Stack Guards Every Session]: Kid lock, automatic pan recognition, and residual heat indication work together, while auto shutdown answers overheating, overvoltage, and overcurrent. Curious hands meet a locked panel, and forgotten burners shut themselves down.
Will it fit your existing cutout?
Measure the worktop opening and check the surrounding installation conditions before ordering. Bosch Australia lists the following dimensions:
| Measurement | Bosch Australia specification |
|---|---|
| Appliance dimensions (H × W × D) | 51 × 592 × 522 mm |
| Required installation niche | 51 × 560 × 490–500 mm |
| Minimum worktop thickness | 16 mm |
| Appliance weight | 10.4 kg |
These figures come from Bosch’s Australian specification sheet. A nominal 60 cm width alone is not enough to confirm a fit: the niche dimensions and the installation instructions for the exact unit matter. Have the installer verify the cutout and surrounding clearances against the regional manual.

Electrical requirements and installation
Bosch Australia lists a 4.6 kW connected load, 220–240 V supply and a 110 cm cord. The sheet says PowerManagement can limit the hob’s total power and advises consulting a licensed electrician about suitability and installation. A power limit is not a substitute for checking that the home’s circuit and the installation meet local electrical requirements.
Ask a licensed electrician to confirm the supply, connection method and suitability for the planned installation before purchase or fitting. Do not infer from the product’s voltage listing alone that an existing connection is adequate.

Should you buy the Bosch PUJ611BB5E?
On the documented specifications, the PUJ611BB5E is worth considering if you want a frameless 60 cm induction cooktop, need three cooking positions, and have cookware that suits its 280 mm, 210 mm and 145 mm zones. It is a less natural fit if your routine depends on four simultaneous pans or if the specified niche and electrical requirements do not match your kitchen.
That is a fit-and-specification assessment, not an independent performance verdict. Before deciding, confirm the exact regional variant, cutout, cookware compatibility and electrical installation; check local retailer information for price, availability and warranty. Bosch’s Australian product page is the manufacturer’s product reference. Owners looking for manuals, installation instructions or parts should use the support page for their exact model identifier; the US support page applies specifically to PUJ611BB5E/01.
