The named “Bootstrap Accordion V18” resource cannot be verified from available information: its publisher, source code, license, release date, and Bootstrap compatibility are not established. Bootstrap’s official documentation does describe how its own accordion works in version 5.3. The guidance below covers that documented component; it is not a review or confirmation of V18.

What is known about Bootstrap Accordion V18?

There is not enough verifiable information to identify a specific free multipurpose accordion called “Bootstrap Accordion V18.” No publisher, repository, demo, download page, license, release date, or supported Bootstrap version is established. Treat the name as unverified rather than assuming it refers to an official Bootstrap release or a particular downloadable template.

Bootstrap’s official version 5.3 accordion documentation explains the framework’s accordion component. The implementation guidance below is for that documented version, not for the unidentified V18 resource.

How Bootstrap 5.3 accordions behave

Bootstrap describes accordions as vertically collapsing components built with its Collapse JavaScript plugin. The plugin controls whether each panel is shown or hidden; the accordion styles provide the grouped presentation. The animation responds to the user’s prefers-reduced-motion setting.

Accordion group behavior depends on whether a collapsible panel has a data-bs-parent attribute. With a parent set, opening an item closes another open item in the same group. Without it, multiple panels can remain open.

How to open a Bootstrap accordion item by default

For Bootstrap 5.3, an initially open panel needs matching state in the panel and its button: add show to the panel, remove collapsed from its button, and set aria-expanded="true" on that button. The relevant structure looks like this:

  </div>

The button’s data-bs-toggle="collapse" and data-bs-target identify the collapse behavior and panel selector. The panel uses collapse; show marks it open on page load. The example includes data-bs-parent, so opening another panel in this group closes the first.

How to let multiple accordion panels stay open

Omit data-bs-parent from the .accordion-collapse elements when users should be able to leave several panels open at once. Keep the collapse trigger and panel selector in place so each button still controls its associated panel. This is a behavior choice, not a separate accordion component.

Bootstrap version matters

Bootstrap’s version 5.0 documentation also describes the accordion as using Collapse internally, but markup and framework details should be checked against the specific Bootstrap version in a project. Do not assume an unidentified V18 template supports Bootstrap 5.3—or that older examples are interchangeable with current markup.

The Bootstrap project’s November 11, 2020 Alpha 3 announcement said it had dropped the card-based accordion for a new .accordion component. That is historical context about Bootstrap’s development, not evidence about the separate V18 name.
