It depends on whether you want to follow the Mexican market or manage and trade investments. BolsaBuddy is described as a free, locally run daily tracker for Mexico’s IPC index (^MXX), with a thesis-aware watchlist. BMV’s Bolsapp focuses on exchange market and issuer information, while GBM and Actinver Trade describe account-linked portfolio features and trading. Those are different jobs, so there is no evidence-based universal winner.
What each app is for
BolsaBuddy: a daily IPC view and personal watchlist
In a October 3, 2026 project post, creator Ssolidssnake9 describes BolsaBuddy as a free project that runs locally. It fetches daily ^MXX data from Yahoo Finance and presents indicators such as day change, 20-, 50- and 200-day moving averages, distance from the 52-week high, streaks and all-time-high alerts in a phone-readable HTML page, alongside a plain-language brief. The creator also describes a watchlist that places a price beside a saved investment thesis and a price-based “kill-trigger.” These are creator-described features, not independently tested findings.

The creator says the free Yahoo Finance daily feed provides index history reaching back to 1991. The evidence does not establish a precise delay, equivalence to an exchange feed, data completeness, licensing suitability or investment value. Treat it as a daily tracker, not a source of confirmed real-time exchange quotes. A sample brief in the post is dated October 1, 2026; its figures are historical examples, not a current market snapshot.
Recommended Free Tools
The creator framed the need as: “A friend wanted an investing tool for the Mexican market. Not a dashboard with a subscription. Something simple: what did the IPC do today, am I near a high, and a plain-English line about it.”
#1 Best Overall
- As a day trader, you can live and work anywhere in the world. You can decide when to work and when not to work.
- You only answer to yourself. That is the life of the successful day trader. Many people aspire to it, but very few succeed. Day trading is not gambling or an online poker game.
- To be successful at day trading you need the right tools and you need to be motivated, to work hard, and to persevere.
BMV Bolsapp: exchange information and education
BMV’s Bolsapp listing describes an app for following favorite stocks, viewing graphs and indicators, exploring issuer information, learning about brokerage houses, and comparing or bookmarking BMV-listed investment funds. The listing showed an update date of August 25, 2026. It does not say that the app executes trades, so it is best understood here as an information and education option, not a brokerage.
GBM and Actinver Trade: brokerage accounts and trading
GBM’s product page describes an app and web platform for managing an investment account and trading in local and international markets, with portfolio performance and multiple investment products. It advertises account opening from $100 MXN and more than 6,000 instruments. Those are vendor-stated claims on the page, accessed October 4, 2026, and may change; check the account conditions and current instrument catalog directly.
Actinver Trade is the current app name for the product formerly called Bursanet. Its App Store listing describes portfolio balance, movement history, buying power, stock and ETF trading, funds, currencies, CETES, real-time alerts and educational material. Actinver’s product page also describes a broader instrument range and educational tools. These are vendor-described functions, not independent assessments of usability or reliability. Actinver says its content is informational, not a personalized recommendation.
How to choose for your tracking needs
| What you need | BolsaBuddy | BMV Bolsapp | GBM or Actinver Trade |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary role | Daily IPC context and a personal thesis list, as described by its creator | Market, issuer and listed-fund information and education, per the BMV listing | Account-linked portfolio management and trading, per each broker’s product information |
| Coverage | Mexico’s IPC index (^MXX) | BMV issuers and listed investment funds, among other information in the listing | Markets and instruments available through the specific brokerage account |
| Data or quote timing | Creator describes a daily Yahoo Finance feed; exact delay not established | Not stated in the cited listing | Check the current quote timing with the broker; the cited descriptions do not establish comparable timing |
| Portfolio connection | Creator describes a watchlist with a saved thesis and price trigger | Not stated in the cited listing | GBM describes account portfolio management; Actinver describes balance, movement history and buying power |
| Order placement | Not described | Not stated in the cited listing | Trading is described by both broker providers |
Choose BolsaBuddy for a lightweight market routine
If your main question is what the IPC did on a daily basis and whether a tracked price has reached a level tied to your own thesis, BolsaBuddy’s described features align with that routine. Its watchlist is not described as a brokerage account, and the available account does not establish that it can place orders.

Choose Bolsapp for BMV issuer and fund context
If you want to explore companies and investment funds listed on the Mexican exchange, Bolsapp’s described information and education features are more relevant than an IPC-only tracker. The cited listing does not establish trading functionality.
Compare GBM and Actinver Trade if you need a broker
If you want to see holdings, account activity or buying power and place trades, compare the brokers’ current instrument coverage, fees and account terms, quote freshness, interface accessibility and support. GBM’s advertised starting amount and instrument count are vendor claims, not a complete comparison of costs or suitability; neither those numbers nor the Actinver feature descriptions establish which brokerage is better for you.

What the available evidence cannot settle
The product descriptions establish advertised roles and features, not how the apps compare in speed, interface quality, tracking accuracy, security, support or user satisfaction. A Reddit commenter looking for a beginner brokerage wrote, “Principalmente me gustaría una app que tenga una interfaz sencilla y que esté regulada por la CNBV.” That is one person’s phrasing, not survey evidence or a comparative assessment. Check the provider’s current terms and relevant regulatory information directly when choosing where to open an account.
