Does Bloodborne work on PS5?
Yes. Sony Interactive Entertainment lists Bloodborne, released on March 24, 2015, as a PS4 title that is playable on PS5. Sony cautions that the console may need updated system software and that some features available on PS4 may be absent. What “Bloodborne on Steam Deck” means
For this comparison, the Deck is a Remote Play client, not the device running the game. The PS5 runs Bloodborne and sends a video-and-audio stream to the Deck; your inputs travel back to the console. The documented Steam Deck route uses chiaki-ng, a third-party client. How to set up PS5 Remote Play on Steam Deck
- Enable Remote Play on the PS5. If you want to wake the console remotely from rest mode, enable the relevant rest-mode network settings as well.
- Install chiaki-ng on the Deck. Switch to Desktop Mode, follow the project’s Steam Deck installation instructions, register your PlayStation, and test the connection.
- Add it to Game Mode if you want. The project documentation covers adding the client to Game Mode; this is optional.
- Optimize the home connection. chiaki-ng recommends connecting the PlayStation to the router over Ethernet and the Deck over Wi-Fi for home streaming.
Follow the project’s current steps for installation and registration: chiaki-ng setup documentation. Sony’s general Remote Play requirements include a PS4 or PS5, a compatible connected device, the Remote Play app, a compatible game, and an internet connection. Its network guidance applies to Remote Play generally; it is not a guarantee of a particular result on a Steam Deck using a third-party client. For home streaming, chiaki-ng says its default configuration relies on the local router rather than the public internet connection.
Connection requirements and troubleshooting
Sony’s Remote Play guidance sets a minimum of 5 Mbps upload and download and recommends at least 15 Mbps upload and download for best performance. - Check that both the PS5 and Deck have a working network connection.
- Pause other downloads or network-heavy activity while testing.
- Try a 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection if the stream is unstable.

Which option should you choose?
- Choose PS5 play if you want to avoid configuring a streaming client and prefer playing directly on the console’s display.
- Choose the Deck stream if handheld play matters enough to you to install and configure chiaki-ng, and your connection to the PS5 is suitable.
- Choose based on your controls rather than assuming you need another controller: the Deck has built-in controls, and chiaki-ng documents customized mapping and DualSense support.
Valve’s Deck Verified labels describe how games work on Steam Deck: Verified means a game works well out of the box, while other categories may indicate required tweaks, current incompatibility, or that a game has not been checked.
