The Blendtec Designer 650 is a premium residential blender with a manufacturer-listed 1,560-watt motor, touchscreen controls, and a WildSide+ jar. Those specifications describe the Designer 650 product family; Blendtec’s page does not establish that every current listing is the exact CTB1 configuration. There is also a mismatch in the page’s preset-cycle count, and no independent performance test is established here. Treat this as a fact-based buying assessment, not a hands-on verdict.
What does the Designer 650 offer?
Blendtec lists a 1,560-watt motor, a sealed capacitive touchscreen, eight manual speeds plus pulse, and an illuminated LCD timer. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of blending performance. The company describes the blender as suitable for smoothies, whole-fruit juice, ice cream, soups, sauces, batters, and frozen drinks, but those are stated uses rather than tested results. The interface combines manual adjustment with programmed cycles. The page does not provide a consistent preset count: its feature copy describes six cycles, including Batters and Ice Crush, while its detailed specifications list five: Smoothie, Ice Cream, Whole Juice, Hot Soup, and Clean. Since the page does not resolve the difference or confirm every CTB1 listing, check the controls on the specific unit or its manual before buying if a particular preset matters.
What comes in the box, and which jars fit?
Blendtec identifies a WildSide+ jar and vented gripper lid as included with the Designer 650. It describes the jar as BPA-free copolyester and says it is compatible with all Blendtec consumer blenders. Package contents can vary by listing, so check the exact CTB1 offer rather than assuming a marketplace package matches the manufacturer’s product-family description.

Blendtec also claims the jar provides up to 25% increased blending efficiency for frozen ingredients, and says its blunt blade is 80% thicker and ten times stronger than other blades. These are the manufacturer’s comparisons; the available information does not independently verify them. If buying a replacement jar, confirm compatibility and that the listing is for the genuine WildSide+ jar intended for consumer blenders.
How large is it, and what power does it need?
Blendtec lists the Designer 650 at 7 inches wide, 15.5 inches high, and 9.25 inches deep, with a weight of 9.8 pounds. Its listed electrical specifications are 110/120 volts and 15 amps. Check the appliance label and the seller’s details for the exact version, particularly if purchasing outside the US or from a marketplace listing; the product page’s figures should not be assumed to apply to every regional configuration.

What does the warranty cover?
Blendtec’s current US/Canada warranty schedule lists eight years of parts and eight years of labor for the original Designer 650. Coverage is for qualifying residential products purchased from Blendtec or an authorized dealer in the United States or Canada. Commercial use is excluded; Blendtec says use exceeding 3,000 cycles in a year is presumed commercial. Separately purchased jars are listed with three years of parts and labor. Read Blendtec’s warranty terms and verify that the seller is authorized before relying on coverage.

Is the Blendtec Designer 650 worth considering?
It may suit a buyer who wants manual speed control alongside programmed cycles, and who values the included WildSide+ jar and a long stated residential warranty in the US or Canada. Whether it is worth the price depends on the exact CTB1 listing, local voltage, confirmed package contents, seller authorization, and the tasks you need it to handle.
The available evidence does not establish independent results for blending performance, noise, cleaning ease, or durability, nor does it provide a verified current price or marketplace seller. There is therefore no sound basis here to rank the 650 against competing blenders or to call it a tested performer.
