Bleach Evolved is a Forge modpack for Minecraft Java Edition 1.12.2. To make a working multiplayer server, install the same Bleach Evolved release and the same Forge loader on the server and every player’s client. The current CurseForge release is Bleach Evolved 3.3.2, uploaded September 10, 2026.

The most reliable route is to download the project’s matching server-pack artifact, run it in a clean directory, accept the generated EULA, and relaunch once. The project warns that the first launch often crashes; a second launch is expected before you investigate logs or change versions.

What Bleach Evolved requires
Bleach Evolved is built around KD’s Bleach mod and targets Minecraft Java 1.12.2 with the Forge mod loader. A server is not compatible merely because it has “the Bleach mod.” Every participant must use a matching modpack release, Minecraft version, Forge loader, and mod set.

Do not mix a server pack from one release with a client profile from another. Keep the downloaded archive, its version number, and your world backups together so you can identify exactly what is running later.

Choose self-hosting or a managed host
You can run the server on your own computer or rent a managed Minecraft server. Self-hosting gives you direct access to every file and costs no recurring hosting fee, but you must handle Java, backups, firewall rules, uptime, and troubleshooting. A managed host usually offers a control panel and network connectivity, but you pay recurring charges and must verify that its installer supports the exact Bleach Evolved release you need.

Managed options listed for this pack
BoxToPlay advertises one-click Bleach Evolved deployment during server setup. WinterNode advertises a Bleach Evolved 1.12.2 Forge hosting option and notes that major pack-version jumps can alter mod data. These statements do not establish a universal price, memory allocation, Java version, backup policy, or support level. Before paying, verify the selected pack release, server location, Java support, player-slot limit, backup schedule, cancellation terms, and current price in the host’s own panel.
Prepare a self-hosted server
1. Confirm the release you will run
Open the Bleach Evolved project’s CurseForge files and select one release for everyone. At the current date, the files index identifies Bleach Evolved 3.3.2 — CurseForge, 2026 as the latest release. If a newer release appears when you download, use that release consistently instead and record its exact name and Forge requirement.
Look for a file labelled SERVER PACK or a release entry labelled Server Prep. A server pack is preferable to manually copying a client’s mods folder because it may contain server-specific scripts, libraries, configuration defaults, and the correct Forge files. If no server artifact is available for your chosen release, read the release instructions carefully before constructing a server from individual files.
2. Create a clean server directory
Make a new directory used only for this server, such as BleachEvolved-3.3.2-server. Extract the server-pack archive directly into it. Do not place it inside another Minecraft server, and do not copy files from a different Bleach Evolved release, a vanilla server, or another modpack.

A clean directory makes backups and rollback possible. It also prevents an old config, mods, or world folder from silently overriding the release you intended to test.
3. Use the included Forge files and launch instructions
Run the Forge server files included by the pack, or follow the pack’s README and start script if the archive tells you to install Forge separately. Use the Java version and memory settings stated by that release. The available project pages do not publish a reliable current Java major-version requirement or RAM minimum, so do not treat a generic Minecraft recommendation as a Bleach Evolved specification.
On Windows, the supplied .bat file may be the intended launcher. On Linux or macOS, use the supplied shell script if one is provided and make it executable according to the README. If you create your own command, preserve the Forge arguments from the pack’s script rather than replacing them with a vanilla server command.
4. Start once and accept the EULA
- Start the server from the extracted directory, not from a parent folder.
- Wait for the process to stop or for it to report that an
eula.txtfile was created. - Open
eula.txtand changeeula=falsetoeula=trueonly after reading and accepting Minecraft’s EULA. - Save the file without changing its name or extension.
The first run creates configuration files, libraries, and the initial world directory. Do not interrupt it while those files are being generated unless the process is clearly stuck and the log explains why.
5. Relaunch before changing anything
Gremter’s Bleach Evolved project page gives this explicit warning: “FIRST LAUNCH TENDS TO CRASH, RELAUNCH FOR IT TO WORK CORRECTLY.” Stop the process if it has exited, then run the same launch script a second time. A first-run crash by itself is not evidence that you selected the wrong Forge version.

If the second launch also fails, preserve the complete log before making changes. Note the first error and the first “caused by” line, not only the final shutdown message. Replacing files at random can hide the original fault and make the server directory differ from the published pack.
6. Check the server log
Wait for the log to report that the server has finished loading and is listening. Record the address and port shown by the server or by your host operating system. The project pages do not establish a single universal port requirement for every installation, so use the value reported by your running server and network configuration.
Look for errors mentioning a missing mod, wrong Forge loader, failed library download, or incompatible Java runtime. A normal startup should not end with an exception or immediately return to the command prompt.
7. Configure network access
Players on the same home network may be able to connect using the host computer’s local IP address and the server port. Players outside that network normally need the port forwarded from the router to the server computer and allowed through the computer’s firewall. Exact menus and rules differ by router, operating system, and internet provider.
- Give the forwarding rule the server computer’s stable local IP address.
- Forward the TCP/UDP protocol combination required by your server and router, using the port shown in your configuration.
- Allow the Java server process through the host firewall on the chosen network profile.
- Do not publish your home IP address in a public post; send the address privately to invited players.
If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, ordinary port forwarding may not work. In that case, use a managed host or a private networking solution that all players can legally and safely access.

Install the matching client profile
CurseForge installation
- Open the CurseForge launcher and find the Bleach Evolved project.
- Install the exact release used by the server, currently 3.3.2 unless a newer release has replaced it.
- Open the profile’s settings or profile options and verify that it uses Minecraft 1.12.2 and the Forge loader required by that release.
- Launch the profile once to allow the launcher to finish downloading libraries and generating its client files.
CurseForge support documents changing a profile to a required Forge or Fabric version through Profile Options. Use that control only to match the release instructions; selecting a newer loader because it appears in a menu does not make a 1.12.2 pack compatible.
GDLauncher installation
GDLauncher documents a quick-install identifier of #bleach-evolved. Enter that identifier in GDLauncher’s pack-install flow, choose the same release as the server, and confirm the resulting instance reports Minecraft 1.12.2 and Forge. If the launcher offers multiple versions, compare the complete release name rather than choosing the first result.
Verify the client before connecting
- The instance name or manifest identifies the same Bleach Evolved release as the server.
- The Minecraft version is 1.12.2.
- The Forge loader matches the server’s loader.
- The launcher has finished downloading every mod and library.
- You have not added optional client mods or removed pack files that change the network mod list.
Players do not need the server’s world folder. They do need the correct client profile and any configuration files that the pack distributes for clients.

Let players join
- Start the server and wait until it reports a completed startup.
- Give each player the server address and port privately.
- Have the player open the matching Bleach Evolved profile and choose Multiplayer.
- Select Add Server, enter a recognizable name, and enter the address in the form
hostname:portwhen a non-default port is shown. - Connect while watching the server console for the player’s login message.
A player who can reach the server but is rejected during login should compare versions before changing the world or deleting files. A player who cannot see or reach the server at all usually has a network, firewall, address, or port problem rather than a modpack problem.
Troubleshoot the common failures

Backups, updates, and rollbacks
Back up before every change
Stop the server cleanly before copying its files. Back up the entire world directory, the config directory, server properties, scripts, and the exact server-pack archive. A world-only backup may not restore correctly if the mod configuration that created it is missing.
Keep at least one backup away from the server computer. Periodically restore a copy to a separate directory and confirm that it starts; an untested archive is not a dependable backup.
Update in a separate directory
- Download the new Bleach Evolved release and its matching server pack.
- Copy a backup of the current world into a new test directory, or generate a temporary test world.
- Run the new server pack without overwriting the old directory.
- Check the log for migration warnings, missing mods, and world-load errors.
- Have players install the same new client release and test connection.
- Only after the test succeeds, schedule downtime, make a final backup, and move the live world to the new release.
Never downgrade a world by simply swapping the old mod files back. Restore the complete pre-update server directory and its matching world backup instead.

What players do after joining
Bleach Evolved presents four faction paths: Shinigami, Hollow, Quincy, and Fullbringer. The project description directs new players to craft a Shinai, press B to view their stats, obtain the guidebook, and use that guide to choose and progress through a faction.
Hollows begin appearing after a player reaches 30 base SP, according to the Bleach Evolved project description. The named progression paths include Shikai and Bankai for Shinigami, Arrancar evolution and Ceros for Hollows, Letzt Stil for Quincy, and buffs for Fullbringers. Because these systems are tied to the pack’s configuration and release, players should use the in-game guidebook for the exact progression steps in the version the server is running.
A practical launch checklist
- Choose one Bleach Evolved release and write down its complete name.
- Confirm Minecraft Java 1.12.2 and the required Forge loader.
- Download the matching SERVER PACK or Server Prep artifact when available.
- Extract it into a new, dedicated directory.
- Use the supplied README or start script for Java and memory settings; do not assume unpublished values.
- Start once, accept the EULA in the generated
eula.txt, and start again. - Follow the project warning and relaunch once before changing versions.
- Check the log for a completed startup, listening port, and missing-mod errors.
- Configure firewall and router access only when remote players need it.
- Install the identical release and Forge loader through CurseForge or GDLauncher on every client.
- Back up the complete server directory before updates, configuration edits, or world migration.
With those checks complete, Bleach Evolved’s multiplayer setup is a normal Forge 1.12.2 deployment: the difficult part is maintaining exact version parity and preserving a clean, recoverable server directory.
