How to think about Flagship’s routes
Under the hull
The area below the carrier is the map’s defining enclosed space. Pay attention to where it connects with the rest of the arena and avoid assuming that a route through the hull offers the same sightlines as the exposed worksite.

The gantry and ascender
An ascender provides access to the gantry, creating a vertical option alongside movement below the ship and around the site. Check the surrounding approaches before committing to the climb, since the official map description identifies the route but does not specify how exposed it is in each mode.
The repair worksite
The surrounding worksite is the third documented area. Treat it as an alternative to the under-hull space rather than as a guaranteed flank: the official description confirms the location, but does not publish a complete route diagram or sightline analysis.

Is Flagship 6v6, 2v2, or a larger mode?
The current official map page identifies Flagship as both 6v6 and 2v2. Do not assume that every playlist or mode is available on the map at a given time; check the in-game playlist or the live official map guide for current availability.
Black Ops 7 also has Skirmish, a larger objective mode. Activision described it at launch as two teams of 20 players completing objectives for score, but that description does not establish that Flagship supports Skirmish. The launch announcement also names standard modes including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Kill Confirmed, Free-For-All, Hardpoint, Kill Order, Overload, and Control. Mode availability can vary by map and playlist.

How the Black Ops 7 map pool changed after launch
Map counts depend on the date and what is included. Activision’s November 4, 2025 launch announcement said 16 signature 6v6 maps and two larger Skirmish maps would be available at launch. It also announced Nuketown 2025 for the preseason on November 20. The announcement’s headline count of 19 maps before Season 01 includes that later preseason addition, so it is not a launch-day count.
The pool subsequently expanded. In its Season 03 announcement, Activision listed Beacon and Abyss as new maps, Plaza and Gridlock as remasters, and Mission: Trident as a Skirmish map; it also named Onsen, Summit, and Hacienda for the mid-season update. The current official map page lists additional maps and returning or remastered entries, including Meltdown, Standoff, Summit, and Nuketown 2025. For the live roster, consult the current map page rather than treating a launch list as complete.

What official map descriptions can—and cannot—tell you
Official descriptions are useful for recognizing format and broad geometry: whether a map supports 6v6, 2v2, or Skirmish; whether it has enclosed corridors, open ground, elevated routes, or ascenders; and whether the description calls out particular sightlines or flanks. For example, the official description of Abyss highlights confined submarine corridors and ascenders to upper decks, while Beacon’s description identifies interior buildings, a central bridge, and distant tundra sightlines.

These details help you anticipate the kind of space a map contains, but they do not prove which map is easiest, most balanced, or best for a weapon, role, or competitive setting. No official performance figures in the cited map material establish win rates or map popularity.

Physical editions and platform compatibility
Flagship is part of Black Ops 7, rather than a separately required accessory or add-on. Activision Support confirms physical editions for PlayStation and Xbox, with compatibility differing by console:
- PS5 physical edition: playable on PS5 only.
- Xbox cross-gen physical bundle: covers Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
- PS4 cross-gen physical bundle: includes a PS5 digital code, but the disc is required to play the PS5 version.
- Digital-only PS5 and Xbox Series S: physical editions do not operate on these consoles.
