Fugitive is a Core multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, set at a desolate CIA black site in Iceland. Its minimap looks like a simple ring of exterior spawns around a courtyard, but the official map guide, published May 23, 2025 by Dan Noel, describes a more layered layout. The Bridge, Tower, ziplines, ladders, and open cells link the two exterior spawns to the central interiors, and most deaths on this map come from taking a link you have not yet learned. Learn the connections first, then decide where to move.
What Fugitive is and how it is set up
Fugitive is listed in the official Call of Duty map catalog as a Core map, under the identifier “Core s04 Fugitive.” The narrative setting is a rescue mission to extract Stitch after the events of the Shutdown mission. Its named areas are the Checkpoint, Courtyard, Recreation Yard, Lobby, Admin, Cell Block, Bridge, and Tower. Activision’s launch overview describes Black Ops 6 as shipping 16 new multiplayer maps, 12 Core 6v6 maps and four Strike maps playable 2v2 or 6v6; that is launch context for the roster, not a current count.

Learn the connections in a private match
The guide’s first recommendation is to learn Fugitive’s connections in a private match before playing it in a ranked or public setting. Focus on four types of link:

- Bridge: the middle route from the Recreation Yard reaches the Bridge, and a truck jump takes you to its upper landing.
- Ziplines: one drops into the Cell Block from the Entrance side, and another in Cell 212 provides a route at the end of the hall.
- Ascender: an approach beneath the Bridge leads up to the Tower.
- Ladders and open cells: ladders elsewhere connect map sections, and open cells on the Cell Block’s sides act as both ambush spots and alternate routes.
The Recreation Yard double doors also lead toward the Cell Block, so the west side has more than one path inward.

Exterior spawns: open ground and long-range pressure
Recreation Yard (west spawn)
The closed sheds are the main cover in an otherwise open yard. Move between them rather than sprinting across the open ground. The double doors lead toward the Cell Block, the middle route leads to the Bridge, and the elevated northern platform gives you coverage and access to Admin. Choose the route based on whether you want to go indoors quickly or hold height.
Entrance (east spawn)
The Entrance is an open field that suits long-range pressure. The Guardhouse and Tower provide the most protected views. Because the approach beneath the Bridge, the ascender to Tower, and the zipline into the Cell Block all start from here, the Entrance is a useful place to read where enemies may be coming from before you commit.
Interior spaces: close range favours readiness
Lobby and Admin
Sliding doors and a deep stairwell conceal incoming approaches, so check these before you push through. The guide specifically says shotguns and SMGs thrive in these spaces. A pistol or melee option may also help at close range. If the fight goes badly, cross the Bridge toward the Cell Block or leave outdoors for a longer-range engagement.

Cell Block and cells
At ground level the octagonal area is a focal point, and the security office provides concealment. Staircases at either end lead to the Bridge and to the cells. Four open cells connect to the outside, so any one of them may hide an enemy and each one also gives you a way through. The guide advises against sprinting blindly into targets in these tight spaces. Clear cells as you pass them and keep your sightline on the openings on both sides.
Central crossings: Courtyard and Checkpoint
Courtyard
Treat the center of the Courtyard as a high-risk crossing. Sightlines can reach it from the Lobby, Admin, Checkpoint, Cell Block, Bridge, and Tower. The narrow path behind the fence gives more concealment and a view through a break in the fence. The raised platform near Tower can serve as another defensive position. Do not assume a direct sprint through the middle is safe.
Checkpoint
A parked truck blocks the narrow sightline, so crossing is risky. You can use the stone blocks for cover, or jump onto the truck roof to see across. While you do that, check the Lobby windows for a flank, since the Checkpoint is directly exposed to that side.

Vertical positions: Bridge and Tower
The guide recommends the Bridge and Tower as power positions for awareness, because they let you see much of the map from above. Getting there is the hard part: use the Bridge truck jump, the ascender beneath the Bridge, or the zipline routes described above. Once you are up, the view is the reward, so hold it rather than dropping down into the fight too early.

The official catalog confirms Fugitive as a Core map, but it does not establish a live playlist rotation. Check the Black Ops 6 playlist menu before a session to confirm whether Fugitive is currently included. The guide itself was published May 23, 2025, so its spatial and tactical notes describe the map as documented then; treat them as a starting point and confirm any detail that changes with a game update.
The guide describes Fugitive as more complex than its minimap first suggests, and that is the main takeaway: learn the links, avoid the open crossings until you know them, and use the high positions to read the match.
