Bitdefender Autopilot suggests security features or actions based on how you use your device. Review a recommendation and choose whether to follow it; to mute recommendation pop-ups in the documented interface, open Settings > General and turn off Recommendation notifications. This changes recommendation notifications, not necessarily Autopilot itself.
What Bitdefender Autopilot does
Bitdefender describes Autopilot as a personal security advisor. Its suggestions may relate to activities such as work, online payments, watching movies, or gaming, or to actions Bitdefender says can help keep the product working at full capacity. A recommendation is an option to consider, not an instruction you must accept.

How to use an Autopilot recommendation
- When Bitdefender displays a recommendation, read what it proposes and why it is being suggested.
- If you want to use the suggested feature or apply the improvement, click the button shown with that recommendation. Bitdefender’s guide says this starts the suggested feature or change.
- If you do not want to act on it, do not select the action button. The guide does not document a universal control for dismissing every kind of recommendation.
These steps follow the interface described in Bitdefender’s Family Pack User’s Guide. Menu labels and available features can vary by product edition, version, and operating system.
How to turn off recommendation pop-ups
- Open the Bitdefender application and select Settings.
- In General, switch off Recommendation notifications.
This setting controls recommendation notifications; it is not evidence that Autopilot has been disabled or that every Bitdefender notification is silenced. Bitdefender’s support article on promotional notifications also distinguishes Recommendation notifications from Special offers for the products it covers. The exact controls may differ in another edition or platform.

If you mean automatic work, movie, or game profiles
Autopilot recommendations and automatic Profiles are separate features. Profiles can activate based on current activity or running applications. To change their automatic activation in the interface documented by Bitdefender, go to Utilities > Profiles > Settings and change Activate profiles automatically. See Bitdefender’s Profiles support article for details. This setting is not an Autopilot switch.
What happens to other security notifications
Bitdefender’s Notifications area is an event log for security notices, including critical, warning, and informational items. Muting recommendation notifications should not be treated as turning off this broader security event log. You can review the categories and events in Bitdefender’s Notifications support article.

Can you disable Autopilot completely?
The documented instructions establish how to use recommendations and how to turn off their pop-ups, but they do not establish a universal control for completely disabling Autopilot across all editions and platforms. If your interface differs, check the support information for your specific Bitdefender product and operating system rather than assuming that the notification setting disables the feature.
