The available information does not establish the band’s measurement accuracy, FDA authorization, manufacturer instructions, or product-specific adverse-event history. Those gaps do not prove the band is unsafe, but they also do not support relying on its readings for medical decisions.
Does the FDA’s blood-pressure warning apply to this band?
The FDA’s September 16, 2025 communication addresses unauthorized devices that claim to measure or estimate blood pressure, including wearable software features. The agency warns that inaccurate readings can contribute to missed changes, delayed care, unnecessary intervention, or inappropriate medication changes. It advises checking whether a device is FDA-authorized and consulting a health care provider when accurate blood-pressure measurements matter to care.

This guidance applies when a device makes a blood-pressure measurement or estimation claim. The evidence available here does not establish that the BioSense Pro makes such a claim, so the warning should not be presented as a finding about this band or generalized to other measurements.
Is BioSense Pro the same product as the FDA’s Varipulse notice?
No. The February 2025 FDA notice concerns Biosense Webster’s Bi-Directional Ablation Catheter, called Varipulse, an invasive device used in cardiac procedures. Similar wording in the names does not establish that the catheter and the DATEOY consumer band are related or interchangeable.

In the first 132 procedures of a limited U.S. evaluation of the Varipulse catheter, four patients—about 3%—had a stroke or transient ischemic attack. The FDA said this exceeded the expected frequency for the type of procedure, typically 1% or less, and described updates to use instructions after the company investigated procedural differences. Those figures apply only to that catheter evaluation and procedure; they are not a risk estimate for the BioSense Pro band.

- Check what the product actually claims to measure. Do not infer a blood-pressure feature—or FDA guidance about one—from a general “health tracker” description.
- Do not use an unverified reading to change treatment. If a health decision depends on a measurement, ask a health care provider which method or device to use.
- Look for product-specific evidence. A seller description alone does not establish accuracy, regulatory status, or safety. The evidence available here does not establish those details for this band.
What can be concluded about danger?
The specific assertion that the DATEOY BioSense Pro puts users in danger remains unverified on the evidence available. The FDA’s blood-pressure communication is relevant only if the band makes the covered claim; the Varipulse notice concerns a different device used in a hospital procedure. Neither establishes that this smart band is dangerous.
