The cited Castr cloud TV playout page says loop mode is included on Premium and higher plans. It also lists 1080p at up to 60 fps on Ultra and Events, and 720p at 30 fps on other plans. These are vendor-stated plan specifications and should be checked against Castr’s current offer before purchase.

StreamYard’s help page says you can select Studio or a prerecorded video as the source, choose YouTube as the destination and schedule the stream for later. It also says advance scheduling is available for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and StreamYard On-Air, but not for custom RTMP destinations.
This documented workflow suits an individual scheduled broadcast. The cited page does not establish a continuous, station-style playlist or 24/7 playout. Review StreamYard’s scheduling instructions and check the current plan, duration and size limits.

5. OBS Studio: local control with an encoder
OBS is an option when you want to operate the broadcast on your own computer rather than use cloud playout. In this model, the computer, encoder and operator-managed stream are part of the workflow; it is operationally different from a cloud service that schedules or loops uploaded files for you.
- Set up YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder help explains creating a livestream with an encoder. Follow the current instructions there to create or select the event and obtain its stream details.
- Configure OBS for the event. Add the video or production sources you intend to broadcast and configure the encoder using the current requirements shown in YouTube Live Control Room. The cited OBS guide is old, so do not rely on it for current interface labels or settings.
- Connect the encoder to YouTube. Enter the stream key in OBS as directed by YouTube’s current setup flow. Treat the key as a password: anyone who has it may be able to broadcast to that stream.
- Start and monitor the stream. Start streaming in OBS, then check the event in YouTube Live Control Room. A local setup needs an operator-managed start and a computer and connection that remain available for the broadcast.
The OBS Project’s YouTube guide provides broad context, but it is dated. Use current official YouTube and OBS documentation for exact screens and settings rather than assuming the old guide matches today’s versions.

What to compare before committing
- Discrete broadcasts or a continuous channel: A scheduler for one prerecorded livestream is not necessarily a channel playout system.
- Looping and live inserts: Check whether the exact workflow you need is supported and which plan includes it.
- Schedule horizon and editing: Confirm how far ahead you can schedule and whether you can revise the lineup after it is set.
- Limits: Check upload and storage quotas, number of playlist files, output resolution and frame rate, stream duration and destination restrictions.
- Unattended operation: Decide whether a local operator and machine can be available, or whether you need cloud-hosted playout.
