The right Wi-Fi electric space heater depends on the room and the kind of control you want: a portable ceramic tower, a fixed panel, or an infrared heater. Manufacturer documentation supports several useful examples, but it does not establish an independent performance winner. Compare each model’s own room guidance, connectivity, safeguards, and installation requirements—and confirm that the exact model is sold for your region.
How to choose a Wi-Fi electric heater
Start with the room and installation, then check the heater’s controls and smart-home compatibility. “Smart heater” can mean basic app control, voice-assistant support, or broader protocols such as Zigbee and Matter; those capabilities are not interchangeable.

- Match the form to the room: Choose a portable tower if you need to move the heater, a panel if you want a fixed installation, or an infrared model if that format suits the space.
- Check output and thermostat controls: Compare selectable wattage levels, scheduling, timers, and any temperature controls listed for the exact model.
- Verify the smart-home setup: Check the named app, Wi-Fi band or other protocol, voice assistants, and regional compatibility. Do not assume a feature from one model applies to another in the same brand.
- Review documented safeguards: Look for model-specific overheat protection, tip-over sensing, child lock, ingress rating, and certification. These features do not make a heater risk-free or establish that unattended use is appropriate.
- Confirm practical ownership details: Check voltage, plug, mounting method, warranty, and current local availability before buying. Prices and stock can change.
The examples below describe manufacturer-reported features, not independent comparative test results. Room-size claims come from each manufacturer and should not be compared as if measured under a shared test.

Other regional tower examples
Two other manufacturer-documented options illustrate why regional checks matter. Xiaomi’s Smart Tower Heater Lite FAQ describes 2000 W output, Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app control, Alexa and Google control, and tip-over and overheating protection; that support page is regional, so confirm local availability and electrical specifications. Olsen & Smith’s UK product page describes an 1800 W ceramic heater with app and Alexa/Google control, selectable 900/1200/1800 W levels, and tip-over and overheat protection; its room guidance and plug/version are specific to that product and region. These figures are not a common benchmark: a manufacturer’s stated coverage or recommended room area does not show how the heaters compare under identical conditions. The documentation also does not establish a quantified energy-cost advantage for any model.
What smart-home compatibility does—and does not—tell you
For basic remote control, start with the manufacturer’s app and the exact model’s network requirements. Lasko names Aria for Home; Mill documents Wi-Fi, Zigbee 3.0, and Matter for the PA900WIFI4; Heatit names an open API for its panel-heater family and specifies 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on one 600 W variant. These are different capabilities, not proof that every heater will work with every hub or platform.
Voice support is also model-specific. Lasko lists Alexa and Google Assistant; Mill names Alexa, Apple Home, and Google Home for the PA900WIFI4; Heatit lists Alexa and Google Home at family level. Confirm that the exact model and your regional version are supported before relying on a voice routine or smart-home automation. No cited documentation makes a separate plug or hub a necessary accessory for operating these examples.
Safety features: verify the exact model
Compare only the safeguards documented for the specific heater you are considering. The AR122’s page lists ETL listing and topple/tip-over and overheat protections; Mill lists overheat protection and a child lock for the PA900WIFI4; Heatit documentation describes safeguards that depend on the variant; Heat Storm says its model features vary. Do not infer that one brand-wide list applies to every heater.
IPX4 and IP24 are stated for the named Mill and Heatit products, respectively. An ingress rating is not a blanket permission to use any electric heater in a wet room. Likewise, an app timer, remote shutoff, child lock, or listed safety feature does not establish that a heater is safe for every location or unattended use. Consult the product manual and local requirements for the exact model.
Which type fits your room?
- Choose a portable ceramic tower if moving the heater is important and you want app or voice control in a freestanding form. Check its voltage and use only its own manufacturer-stated room guidance.
- Choose a fixed panel if you prefer a wall-mounted heater and value features such as scheduling, an open-window function, or protocols like Matter or Zigbee. Confirm the installation requirements and the specifications of the chosen variant.
- Consider infrared if you want an infrared format, including wall-mounted or in-wall options. Heat Storm’s Wi-Fi capability and safeguards vary by model, so confirm them on the exact product page.
There is no evidence here to rank these products by independently measured heating performance, efficiency, or operating cost. Make the decision from your room, electrical setup, installation preference, and verified feature list—not from an unsupported “best” claim.
