What is known about Bully
Embark Studios’ August 12, 2026 announcement set Frozen Trail’s release for October 8 and described new ARC threats, without naming a weapon counter. Its September 23 First Look identifies Bully among the new ARC, but the preview does not establish an attack cycle, armor class, weak point, or encounter strategy. A pre-release enemy database entry likewise supplies no Bully tactics.

The sources use the name “Bully”; they do not confirm “Fragmenter” as an official alternate name. No reliable evidence available by October 7, 2026 supports claims about Bully’s health, range, telegraphs, or damage vulnerabilities. That means there is not yet a sound basis to label any weapon the best choice against it.
How to prepare a provisional loadout
Until Bully has been documented in live play, build for flexibility and the conditions of your raid rather than for an assumed weakness. ARC Raiders combat designer SprinkleMountain describes the general principle in Embark’s June 27, 2025 combat-design post: “Your loadout should influence how you move through the world, which fights you take, and how you win them.” It is design guidance, not Bully-specific advice.

- Match weapon range to the encounter area. Choose a weapon you can use effectively in the spaces where you expect to fight, while keeping mobility and access to cover in mind. Bully’s preferred range is not established.
- Keep the rest of the raid in view. Your second weapon or utility slot may matter against other ARC or Raiders, even if one weapon later proves effective against Bully.
- Plan for ammunition and attrition. Consider expected encounter length, available ammunition, carried stack weight, weapon durability, and repair resources. Embark’s Riven Tides patch 1.26.0 notes discuss weapon durability and attrition changes; these are general raid considerations, not proof of a Bully mechanic.
Is Bettina worth bringing?
Bettina is a conditional candidate, not a confirmed counter. Embark’s patch 1.26.0 notes increased its base damage against ARC armor from 14 to 16—an increase of around 33%. That adjustment matters to this matchup only if Bully is shown to have ARC armor. It does not establish Bully’s armor type or demonstrate Bettina’s performance against it, and later patches may change live values.
A third-party weapon database lists Bettina as a heavy-ammo, full-auto weapon and describes it as versatile for PvE and PvP. Treat that as a reference rather than a guarantee of current in-game stats; check the live game before relying on specific weapon values. Heavy ammunition also belongs in the broader cost calculation alongside durability, repairs, and the chance of encountering other Raiders.

What to compare once Bully is documented
A useful weapon comparison needs encounter evidence, not just general weapon rankings. When Bully’s defenses and behavior are known, compare available options on these axes:
- Damage against its confirmed armor or defenses, if applicable.
- Effective range and the ability to keep shots on target during its observed behavior.
- Ammunition used per encounter, ammunition availability, and carried weight.
- Durability loss and repair cost over the encounter.
- How the weapon choice affects mobility, survivability, and readiness for other threats.
Until those observations exist, these factors can help you choose a sensible all-purpose kit, but they cannot establish a winner against Bully.
