No VPN has been shown to be the fastest, most secure, or most unrestricted choice for Denmark, so this guide does not rank five winners. It shortlists four providers that publish Danish server or Denmark-specific information: NordVPN, Proton VPN, ExpressVPN, and Surfshark. For each one, the published evidence covers server availability, privacy claims, or a general 2026 review, and it stops short of proving speed or streaming performance from Denmark. This guide includes no speed or streaming tests run for it. “Fast,” “secure,” and “unrestricted” are outcomes you need to measure on your own connection, with the service you actually use.
Why no single Denmark winner can be named
Three kinds of evidence are easy to confuse, and the difference matters when you choose a provider.

- Server availability. A provider’s own location list tells you whether it operates a server in Denmark. It does not tell you how that server performs.
- Provider claims. Statements such as “high-speed servers” or “no activity logs” come from the company. They are useful to read, but they are not independent verification.
- General reviews. TechRadar’s September 24, 2026 VPN roundup names NordVPN its overall choice. That is a general evaluation across regions and uses, not a test of Danish servers, so it cannot be turned into a Denmark ranking.
As of early October 2026, we found no independent, Denmark-specific speed comparison covering these four providers. Any speed figure you see should be checked for the test location, date, protocol, and method used.

Because the evidence is uneven, this is a shortlist to test, not a ranked list. The four entries are not ordered by quality for Denmark.

NordVPN
NordVPN’s official location list includes Denmark, which makes it a reasonable first candidate if you need a Danish IP address. Its general standing in the TechRadar roundup reflects that review’s own criteria across many countries. Confirm the current Denmark server list yourself before subscribing, because server lists change.
Proton VPN
Proton VPN’s Denmark page describes high-speed Danish servers and a Danish IP option. Those are Proton’s claims, and they should be presented that way. Proton also publishes a summary of a 2026 infrastructure review by Securitum, covered in the privacy section below. Of the four providers, Proton is the one whose audit summary is available for direct reading.

ExpressVPN
ExpressVPN’s Denmark-specific page covers its Danish servers and states a no-activity-logs and no-connection-logs policy. That policy is the company’s statement. No independent check of it or of Denmark performance is cited here, so read the policy text and any audit reports the company makes available before relying on it.
Surfshark
Surfshark appears in TechRadar’s general 2026 comparison, where its streaming results are described as variable. We did not confirm a Denmark server from the material reviewed. Check its current location list before assuming Danish coverage, and check its device terms before assuming a household-device advantage.

How to judge “fast,” “secure,” and “unrestricted”
Use these checks to turn the marketing words into something you can verify:
- Danish server availability. Confirm the exact city or server name on the provider’s live list, not only the country name.
- Speed. Measure your own download speed with and without the VPN, at the same time of day, on the same device and network. A result is only meaningful with a stated test location, date, protocol, and method.
- Privacy. Read the no-logs policy in full, note its scope, and look for an independent audit with a named firm, a stated date, and a defined scope.
- Devices. Check how many devices one subscription covers at the same time and which platforms the app supports.
- Price and renewal. Read the renewal price and refund terms on the provider’s current pricing page. Prices and promotional terms change, and they are not verified in this guide.
- Your actual use. A Danish IP for banking, a streaming library, or work access each has different requirements. Test the service you need, not a generic one.
Privacy: what a no-logs claim does and does not establish
A VPN moves some trust from your internet provider to the VPN provider. A no-logs policy is a company statement unless an independent auditor has tested it, and an audit covers only the scope and point in time it describes.

Proton says that Securitum’s 2026 review of its server infrastructure found the following, as reproduced on Proton’s audit summary page:
“The technical evidence reviewed during the engagement did not indicate that the examined Proton VPN server infrastructure logs users’ browsing activity, DNS queries, destination services, network traffic contents or user-identifiable connection metadata.”

That wording covers the servers examined in that engagement. It does not certify every Proton app, every server, or any other provider.
Proton’s transparency report, dated July 14, 2026, lists 47 legal orders for Proton VPN through June 2026, and Proton says it denied all 47 because it did not hold the identifying logs requested. The same report lists 59 orders for 2025, all denied. These are Proton-reported figures for Proton VPN only. They do not show how any other provider handles legal requests, and a denied request is not a general guarantee of security.

- Open the provider’s current server list and confirm a Denmark server is listed. For NordVPN, that is the official location page; for Proton VPN, the Denmark page; for ExpressVPN, its Denmark page.
- Before paying, check the trial, money-back, or refund terms in the provider’s current policy.
- Install the official app on your device, sign in, and choose a Denmark server from the app’s location menu.
- Visit an IP lookup site and confirm that the address and country match Denmark. Geolocation databases differ, so a single lookup proves little; compare more than one if the result matters.
- Open the exact service you need, such as your bank, a streaming library, or a work portal, and note whether it loads and behaves normally.
- Repeat the check on another day and at a different hour. Access that worked once may not work later, because services and providers change IP ranges.
Streaming and access: what to expect
- No provider can guarantee access to a named platform. Services block addresses they associate with VPNs, and providers rotate or replace them.
- Proton’s streaming statements on its Denmark page are provider claims. Treat them as expectations to test rather than results.
- TechRadar’s general roundup describes Surfshark’s streaming results as variable. That is a general finding, not a Denmark measurement.
- If a platform stops working, try another Danish server on the same provider first, then check whether the provider has published guidance for that service.
Reader phrasing such as “best VPN for Denmark” or “which VPN has a Danish server” points to a clear first step: confirm the Danish server on a live list, then test the service you need. The shortlist above is where that testing should start.
