For a typical 1080p30 SDR devotional playlist uploaded as a finished video, export an MP4 with H.264 video, progressive scan, a frame rate matching the source, VBR, and stereo audio at 48 kHz. YouTube recommends 8 Mbps video and 384 kbps stereo audio for uploads at 24, 25, or 30 fps. If you are sending a live encoder feed instead, use the live settings—not the upload bitrate: YouTube recommends 14 Mbps for 1080p30 H.264 live ingest. These are separate workflows with separate specifications.
First decide: finished upload or live encoder feed?
A playlist can reach YouTube in two different ways: you can render it to a finished file and upload that file, or play it through an encoder that sends a live feed to YouTube. The recommended bitrates and some audio settings differ, so select the workflow before opening your export or encoder settings.

- Finished file: Export the complete video, then upload it to YouTube. Use YouTube’s recommended upload encoding settings.
- Live broadcast: An encoder sends video and audio to YouTube continuously. Use YouTube’s live encoder recommendations.
YouTube’s published specifications do not establish a separate technical preset for Hindi devotional music. The same general upload or live guidance applies; for a music playlist, take particular care to check the audio from beginning to end.

Exporting a finished playlist video
- Check the source first. Note its resolution and frame rate. Preserve the source frame rate for the upload. If source footage is interlaced, deinterlace it rather than exporting an interlaced file.
- Choose the output resolution. For a 1080p SDR file, set the project and export to 1080p. Do not upscale lower-resolution source material solely to select a larger export number.
- Set the video format and scan. Choose MP4 with H.264 video, progressive scan, and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
- Set frame rate and bitrate together. Match the source frame rate. For YouTube’s 1080p SDR upload recommendation, use 8 Mbps at 24, 25, or 30 fps, or 12 Mbps at 48, 50, or 60 fps. Select VBR for the upload.
- Set the audio. Use 48 kHz. For stereo, YouTube recommends 384 kbps. Its upload guidance lists AAC-LC, Opus, or Eclipsa Audio.
- Use file options for streaming playback. Enable Fast Start, which places the MP4 moov atom at the beginning, and avoid edit lists.
- Review the rendered file. Listen through the opening, transitions, and ending. Check for clipping, silence, abrupt cuts, or unintended gaps before uploading.
YouTube’s upload guidance states: “Content should be encoded and uploaded in the same frame rate it was recorded.” A mostly static devotional playlist does not by itself require 60 fps; use the source frame rate rather than selecting the highest available option.
Sending a live playlist from an encoder
- Set the ingest resolution and frame rate. For a 1080p30 broadcast, configure the encoder for 1080p at 30 fps.
- Select a supported codec and bitrate. Use CBR. YouTube recommends 14 Mbps for H.264 at 1080p30, or 10 Mbps for AV1 or H.265 at that resolution and rate.
- Set keyframes and connection security. Use a two-second keyframe interval and do not exceed four seconds. Use RTMPS where available.
- Configure live audio for the live workflow. YouTube’s live guidance lists AAC or MP3; its advanced settings list 128 kbps stereo and 44.1 kHz for stereo. Do not substitute the upload-only 48 kHz and 384 kbps stereo recommendations without checking the live settings guidance.
- Reserve network capacity. YouTube recommends upload bandwidth 20% above the total streaming bitrate. Account for the combined video and audio bitrate, and make sure the connection can sustain it rather than relying on a short speed-test peak.
- Run a representative test and monitor stream health. Include audio and movement similar to the actual program. YouTube’s live guidance says, “Tests should include audio and movement in the video similar to what you’ll be doing in the stream.” Watch the stream-health indicator during broadcast.
Live encoder recommendations vary by resolution, frame rate, and codec. The 1080p30 figures above should not be carried over to a different live output configuration without checking YouTube’s current table.

Common mistakes and fixes
- Using the live bitrate for an upload, or vice versa: Confirm whether you are rendering a file or sending a live feed, then use the corresponding YouTube recommendation.
- Exporting every playlist at 60 fps: Match the recorded frame rate for uploads. A static image or slow-moving devotional visual does not automatically benefit from a higher frame rate.
- Insufficient upload bandwidth for a live stream: Check the sustained connection against the combined stream bitrate plus YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Reduce the stream’s bitrate or output settings if the connection cannot sustain it.
- Audio gaps or clipping in a long file: Listen through the beginning, transitions, and ending of the rendered playlist; repair the source or edit and render again if needed.
- Live instability despite apparently correct settings: Run a full test with representative audio and movement, check stream health, and verify that the actual encoder output matches the selected resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate.

Copyright and YouTube rules still apply
Export settings do not grant rights to devotional recordings, performances, images, or other material in a playlist. Use content you own or are authorized to use, and check YouTube’s applicable copyright requirements before uploading or streaming. Technical compliance with bitrate and codec recommendations does not determine whether content is permitted or eligible for monetization.
