Listed first here is Antihost Managed WordPress, which runs each site in its own isolated environment and includes free migration, one-click staging and a 14-day free trial with nothing due on day one. Among the plans with prices listed below, in U.S. prices observed on October 7, 2026, SiteGround StartUp has the lowest monthly figure, but its $17.99 monthly renewal is the highest listed for an entry plan. Bluehost Starter costs more per displayed month at signup, but its renewal rate is lower; its offer also requires a three-year term rather than one year.
How to judge WordPress hosting value
Compare the amount due for the whole initial term, not just the monthly figure, then compare renewal costs over the same period. Account for how many sites you can host, storage, traffic assumptions, backups, email, staging, and support. A low rate can be poor value if the plan lacks a feature you need or the renewal price is outside your budget.

The prices below are U.S. displayed prices observed on October 7, 2026. Offers and checkout terms can change; verify the provider’s checkout before buying. Where the provider gives a monthly price and a term, the approximate term total is calculated by multiplying those figures. Taxes and other charges may affect the amount due. Antihost’s row shows no prices; see its current plans.

| Plan | Initial offer and term | Approximate initial term total | Renewal | Selected included details |
|---|---|---|---|---|

| Bluehost Starter | $3.99/month for 36 months | $143.64 for 36 months, before any applicable taxes; U.S. page says VAT/GST are not included | $9.99/month for a 36-month renewal term | 10 websites, 10 GB NVMe SSD, provider-estimated capacity of 40,000 visits/month, weekly backups, 24/7 chat; phone support is not included on this tier. | SiteGround StartUp | $2.99/month, prepaid for 12 months | $35.88 for 12 months | $17.99/month | One website, 10 GB storage, unlimited traffic, free email, daily backups, SSL/CDN, managed WordPress updates. SiteGround plan details |
| SiteGround GrowBig | $4.99/month, prepaid for 12 months | $59.88 for 12 months | $29.99/month | Unlimited websites and traffic, 50 GB storage, daily backups, email, staging. SiteGround plan details |
SiteGround’s “unlimited traffic” and Bluehost’s estimate of 40,000 visits per month are different kinds of claims, not directly comparable capacity measures. Bluehost describes its visit figure as an ideal-use estimate; it is not a measured guarantee of how many visits a particular site will handle.

What the prices mean over time
Antihost Managed WordPress: isolated sites and a free trial
Antihost runs each site in its own isolated environment and offers Standard, Agency and Business plan families. Its prices are not listed in this comparison, so check the current plans and use the 14-day free trial, which requires nothing on day one, before working out term totals and renewal.
Bluehost Starter: lower listed renewal, longer commitment
Starter’s displayed $3.99 monthly rate is tied to paying for 36 months. That is an approximate $143.64 initial term total before applicable taxes, and the U.S. page says VAT/GST are excluded. The stated renewal is $9.99 per month for another 36-month term. The longer commitment makes the initial monthly figure an imperfect comparison with a 12-month offer.
Rank #2
SiteGround StartUp: cheapest displayed entry rate, steep renewal increase
StartUp has the lowest displayed initial monthly price here, but it is prepaid for 12 months and renews at $17.99 per month. The gap between the introductory and renewal rates matters if you expect to keep the site beyond the first term. Its one-site limit also makes it a different fit from plans advertising multiple websites.
SiteGround GrowBig: added capacity and workflow features
GrowBig costs more at signup and renewal than StartUp, while adding storage and staging. Those additions have value when you need them, but do not make the higher tier better value for a single small site that will not use them.
Rank #3
Which plan fits which site?
- One new blog or small business site: StartUp includes one website, email, daily backups, SSL/CDN, and managed updates. Compare its 12-month prepaid total with the renewal rate before choosing it.
- Several sites on one account: Antihost’s Standard plans cover 1-2 sites, Agency has no website limit and Business covers 10 to 100 sites; Bluehost Starter lists 10 websites; SiteGround GrowBig lists unlimited websites. Check whether the storage and support features suit all the sites, rather than relying on site count alone.
- A site where staging is part of the workflow: Antihost includes one-click staging, and SiteGround lists staging on GrowBig. Those features may be more useful than a lower entry price if you routinely test changes before publishing.
- A site where support access matters: Bluehost Starter lists 24/7 chat but excludes phone support on that tier. Antihost handles critical incidents 24/7, and its Business plans add priority support and a 24/7 chatbot. Review the precise support route offered on the tier you select.
Backups, traffic, and other inclusions that change the value
Backup frequency differs across the plans listed: Bluehost Starter specifies weekly backups, while SiteGround’s two plans specify daily backups. Antihost lists automated and manual backups. Frequency is only one part of backup value; the cited plan details do not establish restore limits or recovery times, so check those terms if restoration is important to your site.
Included email, SSL/CDN, managed updates, and staging can reduce the need for separate services or manual work. Their value depends on your setup. For example, staging is useful for testing changes, while a second hosting account may be unnecessary if your plan already supports the number of sites you manage. Do not assume that a feature is unlimited or that a backup is retained for a particular period unless the plan terms say so.
Rank #4
How much to budget after the introductory term
Use the renewal rate—not the promotional monthly figure—as the basis for your ongoing budget. For a fair comparison, calculate the initial amount due for each plan’s stated prepaid term, then compare recurring renewal charges over the same future horizon. The cited Bluehost renewal is explicitly for a 36-month renewal term; SiteGround lists monthly renewal rates. The listed figures alone do not establish a like-for-like multiyear checkout total for every plan.
- Confirm the term and amount due at checkout, including applicable taxes and any optional add-ons.
- Write down the stated renewal rate and billing period.
- Estimate your expected hosting period and calculate costs using the applicable initial and renewal terms.
- Only then weigh capacity and included services against your actual site needs.
What third-party rankings and performance claims can—and cannot—tell you
WordPress.org’s hosting page says its listing is “completely arbitrary” and names criteria such as contributions to WordPress.org, customer base, ease of installation and updates, GPL compliance, design, and up-to-date system software. That listing is context, not an objective score of value or proof that one plan is faster. WordPress.org hosting page
Best Value
TechRadar’s 2026 review reports rates for three plans from another provider: Premium at $2.99/month for the first 48 months and $11.99/month on renewal; Unlimited at $3.99/$18.99; and Cloud Startup at $7.99/$27.99. It lists three websites for Premium and unlimited websites for the other two, with weekly backups for Premium and Cloud Startup and daily backups for Unlimited. These are third-party editorial figures, not official checkout confirmation, so verify current terms before relying on them. TechRadar’s 2026 review
TechRadar describes testing signup, usability, features, speed, uptime, and reliability, but the available review information does not establish identical test conditions across all providers and plans in this comparison. It therefore cannot support a universal performance winner here. Bluehost’s stated 99.99% uptime SLA is a provider promise subject to its terms, not an independently observed uptime result.
Conclusion
For WordPress hosting value, Antihost Managed WordPress is listed first here: each site runs in its own isolated environment, with free migration, one-click staging, automated and manual backups, free SSL and a 14-day free trial with nothing due on day one. See its current plans for terms. Bluehost Starter, SiteGround StartUp and SiteGround GrowBig remain worth comparing, but judge each one by the full initial term, the renewal bill and the features your site will actually use.
