Short answer: YouTube has a built-in Live Redirect setting, but its published instructions describe choosing a specific destination—not automatically finding the next event in a recurring schedule. Set the next eligible Premiere or live stream as the destination for each source stream, then verify it before going live. The available documentation does not establish whether a third-party service automates this exact task.
What YouTube Live Redirect does—and does not do
Live Redirect sends viewers from a finished source livestream to a Premiere or eligible livestream you choose. YouTube says autoplay moves viewers to that destination once the source stream ends. YouTube’s Live Redirect instructions explain how to select a destination; they do not describe a feature that dynamically identifies the next event in a recurring schedule or updates destinations when schedules change.

That distinction matters if you run a sequence of scheduled broadcasts. The native feature can be configured in advance for a known next event, but you should not assume that creating a schedule alone makes YouTube select and update the redirect automatically.
Set a redirect to the next scheduled stream
- In YouTube Studio, open Content > Live and select the source stream.
- Open the stream’s editing controls, choose Customization, and find Redirect.
- Choose the destination Premiere or eligible live stream. For a recurring sequence, select the next event that is currently known and available.
- Save the setting, then check it again before the source stream begins—especially if the schedule or destination has changed.
YouTube recommends setting up a Premiere before setting up the live stream. Its stream-settings guidance says to allow viewers about two seconds for the screen to reload after the source ends. Tell viewers to wait briefly rather than treating that transition as an error. See YouTube’s stream settings guidance.

Eligibility and destination permissions
YouTube lists two requirements for the source creator to use Live Redirect: more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Redirecting to another channel’s livestream also depends on that channel’s permission settings.
- The receiving channel can allow redirects from channels it subscribes to, from all channels, or only from specifically approved channels.
- YouTube’s help page describes a limit of 100 channels in the specifically approved list.
- The destination must be available and eligible. TeamYouTube’s launch announcement described destinations as active or upcoming livestreams or upcoming Premieres, with cross-channel options dependent on the other channel’s permissions. See TeamYouTube’s Live Redirect announcement.
If a destination is another creator’s stream, confirm permission and availability before relying on the handoff. A schedule change or a destination that is no longer eligible can leave your planned transition without the intended target.

Which tools can automate it?
For the redirect itself, the documented option is YouTube Studio’s built-in setting. YouTube’s instructions put destination selection in Studio or Live Control Room. Its encoder setup documentation covers sending a video feed with a stream URL and key; that is a different job, not evidence that an encoder automates redirects. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.

A reliable workflow for a recurring series
- Finalize the next event’s Premiere or livestream first, so it exists as a potential destination.
- Edit the current source stream in YouTube Studio and choose that next event under Customization > Redirect.
- Confirm any cross-channel permission required by the destination channel.
- Recheck the destination after any schedule change and before the source stream starts. YouTube’s published instructions do not say the redirect automatically follows rescheduled events.
- Let viewers know to wait a couple of seconds at the end of the source stream while the destination loads.
