That means you may not need a full platform switch if your only goal is to keep using overlays.

What to know about OBS integrations
StreamElements SE.Live
StreamElements describes SE.Live as an OBS add-on that brings chat and activity feed into OBS. Its support guide, updated May 8, 2025, lists OBS v31.x or newer as a requirement. Because software compatibility can change, check the current guide before installing or upgrading OBS.

Streamlabs OBS plugin
Streamlabs lists an OBS plugin among its YouTube options. Its YouTube page also describes event widgets such as membership-related events, Super Chats, Super Stickers, emotes, and subscriber alerts. Confirm the current plugin capabilities and plan requirements directly with Streamlabs; the available descriptions do not establish that every feature works the same way across Desktop, plugin, mobile, and browser products.
Browser-source overlays
If you use another encoder, StreamElements says its overlays can be added through browser sources. This can preserve an existing production setup, but it does not by itself prove that every chat, event, or account integration in SE.Live is available outside OBS.

Multistreaming: compare the method, not just the label
StreamElements advertises multistreaming, unified chat, and an activity feed for SE.Live, and its product page claims unlimited destinations at no cost. That is a vendor claim, not independent testing; check its current terms and supported destinations before relying on it. Streamlabs describes cloud forwarding and a free Dual Output mode. Those are also vendor descriptions, and current limits or plan terms should be verified before choosing.
YouTube Help lists Streamlabs and Restream among third-party streaming options. This establishes that they are recognized options, not that any one service is faster, more reliable, or better for every channel. For a single-destination YouTube workflow, multistream features may not matter at all.

Compare the features that affect your channel
- Broadcast source: Is the stream coming from a camera, a mobile device, an encoder, or uploaded prerecorded video?
- Production setup: Do you want a desktop application, an OBS add-on, a browser studio, mobile, or console workflow?
- YouTube events: Check support for the exact events you use, such as memberships, Super Chats, Super Stickers, or subscriber alerts.
- Multistream needs: Verify destination support and current limits, rather than assuming the word “multistream” means the same thing across services.
- Plan boundaries: Confirm which features require payment and whether the terms apply to the specific product variant you intend to use.
- Compatibility: Check current software versions and whether the feature is native, plugin-based, or dependent on browser sources.
Neither the cited vendor descriptions nor YouTube’s options page establish a neutral head-to-head performance winner. Treat feature lists as starting points and validate details against current official product pages before migrating an established setup.
Costs and plan details
Static prices are not included here because the official pages describe changing product and plan terms without establishing a durable price comparison. Streamlabs identifies some features as optional Ultra membership features, while StreamElements makes a vendor claim about free unlimited SE.Live destinations. Check each provider’s current plan page for the precise feature, billing period, and eligibility that apply to your account.
