The 60 FPS cap is a practical starting point, not an officially recommended setting or a guarantee: Steam Deck HQ reported about 70–80 FPS on Medium after the compatibility update, but that result does not establish performance on every Deck or in every situation.

There is not enough published post-update Deck testing to recommend a detailed Low-versus-High preset, a separate OLED or LCD profile, or settings tailored to battery life. Begin with Medium and adjust only if your own play session shows a problem; these recommendations are a baseline, not a claim that every scene will hold 60 FPS.

What performance has been reported?
In its October 1, 2026 post-update report, Steam Deck HQ said Minecraft Dungeons II ran at about 70–80 FPS on the default Medium settings, including during combat and scenes with many effects and enemies. This is that publication’s reported result, not a universal benchmark across Steam Deck hardware revisions or game builds. Is Minecraft Dungeons II verified on Steam Deck?
Not according to Mojang’s October 1, 2026 notice: it says the game should now be playable on Steam Deck, but describes full Steam Deck verification as a future goal. Mojang also warns that issues may occur, including missing on-screen keyboard functionality. If you need to type, be prepared to bring up the on-screen keyboard yourself or encounter a keyboard-related problem; the notice does not say that issue has been fixed. What kind of game is it?
Minecraft Dungeons II is an action RPG set in the Minecraft universe. Its story takes players through the Overworld and into the Sift, a new dimension, against the Illager High Council. You can shape a character’s playstyle with weapons, armor, enchants, talismans, and artifacts. It supports solo play and co-op for up to four players, both online and on the couch; Mojang also describes cross-play and mixed co-op. See the launch announcement and Mojang’s game FAQ.
The Steam listing names Steam, Windows, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 among the game’s platforms. You do not need to own the original Minecraft Dungeons to start the sequel. View Minecraft Dungeons II on Steam.
