Pick handheld, tabletop, or TV mode for your screen and setting, and use the input method you find comfortable. Nintendo does not list a game-specific resolution, frame-rate, graphics-preset, or mouse-sensitivity setting.
Which edition should you choose?
Nintendo’s US store listing describes the Switch 2 Edition as offering “Improved resolution and text visibility, with support for mouse controls for menu selection and character movement.” That makes it the straightforward choice if you want the edition with those listed improvements. Nintendo provides no measurements for the improvement, so there is no substantiated numeric resolution to recommend.

| Mode | Best fit | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| Handheld | Portable play and viewing dialogue or menus on the built-in screen. | Nintendo lists handheld support and the edition’s improved text visibility. No handheld-specific setting or measurement is given. |
| TV | A larger viewing area when playing at a distance. | Nintendo lists TV support. No game-specific TV resolution or performance advantage over handheld is stated. |
| Tabletop | Stand-supported play or sharing a screen nearby. | Nintendo lists tabletop support. The game is listed for one player on one system. |
Nintendo’s listing identifies all three modes but does not say any one runs better. Treat mode as a viewing and convenience choice, not a performance tweak.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
Pick an input method you prefer
Start with ordinary Joy-Con controls if they are already comfortable. The Switch 2 Edition listing also supports mouse-style control for menu selection and character movement. Joy-Con 2 (L) can control cursor movement and some buttons. Try that input if it suits how you navigate, but Nintendo does not claim it is faster or better for every player.
What settings can you actually change?
Nintendo’s listing does not document a game-specific resolution selector, frame-rate option, graphics preset, or mouse-sensitivity setting. There is therefore no official numeric setting to enter or verified performance configuration to copy. The concrete choices supported by the listing are the Switch 2 Edition, one of its three play modes, and your preferred supported input.
