Metaphor: ReFantazio is scheduled for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026, so there is no verified best-settings preset yet. Nintendo confirms TV, tabletop and handheld play, but its listing does not specify graphics options, resolution or frame rate. Until the released game can be checked, treat specific setting recommendations as unverified.
What settings are confirmed for the Switch 2 edition?
Nintendo’s US product listing confirms the edition’s release date and supported play modes. It does not publish an in-game graphics menu or say whether players can choose between image quality and performance.

That means there is currently no evidence-based preset to recommend for sharpness, frame rate, latency or battery life. Nor does the listing establish whether the game uses different visual or performance settings when docked. A trailer, preview impression or online speculation is not confirmation of how the final release behaves.
What can you expect in each play mode?
Nintendo lists TV, tabletop and handheld as supported modes. Those labels confirm where the game can be played, not that it has mode-specific settings or runs differently in each one.
#1 Best Overall
- The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
- One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
- Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
- Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
- GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play
- TV mode: Supported; no resolution target, frame rate or TV-specific graphics options are stated.
- Tabletop mode: Supported; no separate image or performance profile is stated.
- Handheld mode: Supported; no handheld-specific preset or game-specific battery estimate is stated.
Nintendo’s Switch 2 specifications give an approximate console battery-life range of 2–6.5 hours, depending on the games played. That is a general estimate, not a measurement for Metaphor: ReFantazio.
What should a reliable settings recommendation measure?
Once the game is released and its options can be checked directly, a useful recommendation should identify the software version and test conditions. It should compare the things that affect play rather than assuming an option’s name tells the whole story:

- Image clarity: Check detail and readability on the Switch 2 screen and on a TV.
- Frame-rate consistency: Look for sustained performance and dips during demanding scenes, not just a brief impression.
- Responsiveness: Consider whether an option changes input feel or introduces noticeable delay.
- Battery life: Measure handheld use rather than extrapolating from Nintendo’s console-wide estimate.
- Play mode: Report docked and handheld findings separately if the results differ.
No such comparison or final-build result is established by the official information currently available. Check the game’s menu and current patch after release before treating any preset as definitive.

SEGA announced the Switch 2 version on June 10, 2026, and said an official website was available. The product listing identifies SEGA as publisher and ATLUS as developer.
