No. At the time of writing, the native iPhone version was announced for late October 2026, but it was still forthcoming on October 13. Hello Games announced October 28 as the release date; the US App Store listing showed October 29 as the expected date. Will the iPhone version work without internet?
Official information available before release does not establish whether the iOS app can launch and sustain single-player gameplay with both Wi-Fi and cellular data disabled. Hello Games’ EULA, section 10.1, says, “An internet connection is required for your use of the Game and/or certain content or functionality of the Game.” The EULA was last updated January 25, 2019; it does not specify which functions need a connection or how the iPhone version behaves.
The iOS announcement does not provide an offline-play rule. That leaves the key practical question open: downloading the app does not, by itself, confirm that it will work in airplane mode. Don’t rely on offline access for a flight or a place without service unless the released app or a later official statement confirms it.

Which iPhones are compatible?
Hello Games summarizes compatibility as iPhone 11 and above. The US App Store listing specifies iOS 26.0 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later, and names iPhone XS/XR and newer in its supported-device list. Those descriptions do not align exactly, so don’t infer support from a model name alone. Check the live App Store compatibility details for your specific phone and region before downloading.
Native app or streaming: which can work offline?
The native app installs on the iPhone and is the only route that might support offline play; that capability remains unconfirmed. Xbox lists No Man’s Sky for cloud gaming, but cloud play streams the game and needs an internet connection, so it cannot meet an offline-play need.
