Save a page with Firefox’s built-in command
Firefox’s help documentation describes saving a web page to your computer for offline access. Its complete-page choice saves the HTML along with associated resources; the files need to stay together for the local copy to use them.

- Open the page you want to keep and let it finish loading.
- Open Firefox’s page-saving command and choose “Web page, complete” as the format.
- Choose a folder and save. Keep the resulting HTML file and its companion resource folder together.
- Open the saved HTML file from your computer to check the parts you need.
Firefox’s menu placement can vary by version and platform, so use the page-saving command available in your installation. Mozilla’s “Download and save | Firefox Help” page reports that it was last updated August 11, 2023.
Use SingleFile when one HTML file matters
The Firefox Add-ons listing for SingleFile describes saving a complete page—including CSS, images, fonts, and frames—as one HTML file. It instructs users to wait until the page has finished loading before processing it.

- Run SingleFile from Firefox’s extension controls and save the resulting HTML file.
- Open that file locally and inspect the content you need to retain.
A single file is easier to move than an HTML file with a separate resource folder, but neither format is a guarantee that every website feature will work offline. A saved copy may not preserve the behavior of every script, login-gated feature, video, or dynamic element.

Check the saved copy before relying on it
After saving, open the local file and inspect the specific text, images, styling, or other content you need. For a stronger offline check, disconnect from the network before opening it. Treat the result as a saved copy of one page, not a complete offline version of the website or a promise that interactive elements will behave as they did online.
- Need one file: use SingleFile and wait for the page to finish loading before saving.
- Prefer no extension: try Firefox’s “Web page, complete” option and retain the resource folder.
- Need a site archive: a one-page save is not enough; choose a separate workflow intended for archiving multiple pages and verify its current behavior.
- Need a particular interactive feature: test that feature in the saved copy before depending on it offline.
