StreamNeo is the first option to consider for a cloud-hosted, always-on YouTube stream: upload a video or playlist, add your stream key, and go live. Restream itself also advertises uploaded-video looping and playlists, but its current public product page does not settle every limit, so confirm the behavior for your plan before switching.
First, decide whether you need a loop or a scheduled event
A continuous loop keeps a playlist running and starts it again when it reaches the end. A scheduled prerecorded broadcast starts a selected video at a chosen time and ends when that video finishes. These are different jobs: a tool that automates a one-time broadcast is not necessarily a replacement for an always-on playlist.

Best alternatives by use case
| Option | Best fit | What is established | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | A YouTube channel that needs an always-on cloud stream from uploaded videos | Upload a recording or playlist, add a YouTube stream key, and start a cloud loop. It supports up to 4K 60fps as uploaded, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. | It is for YouTube prerecorded-video streaming, not camera broadcasts or other destinations. |
| Restream | Creators who want uploaded-video scheduling, playlists, and looping within Restream | Restream’s product page advertises queueing, scheduling, playlists, and looping, with different upload-library capacities by tier. | The retrieved official page does not establish every duration cap or playlist-loop restriction. Confirm the exact behavior for your plan. |
| Gyre | A cloud playlist intended to restart continuously | Gyre documents uploading files, building a playlist, connecting YouTube, scheduling the stream, and restarting the playlist at its end. YouTube’s encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streams. | Convenience comes with vendor dependence and recurring plan cost; documented workflow does not establish comparative reliability or audience results. |
| StreamYard prerecorded streaming | A scheduled broadcast built around one finished video | Its help article says the video can start automatically at the chosen time, even if the user is offline, and the broadcast ends when the video finishes. | This describes a scheduled event, not an indefinitely repeating playlist. Prerecorded mode does not use the standard studio controls for overlays and media assets. |
| OBS with a local encoder | Hands-on control over scenes, filters, and a locally managed stream | YouTube’s encoder help is the official starting point for encoder-based streaming. OBS is a local software option for creators who want configuration control. | Your computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available and stable for the stream to continue. |

StreamNeo is a cloud service from StreamNeo for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; the cloud handles the loop, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on.

2. Restream: confirm its loop behavior before changing plans
Do not assume Restream cannot loop. Its current product page advertises uploaded-video queueing, scheduling, playlists, and looping. The page displays Premier with a two-hour upload library and scheduling; Marathon with a four-hour library, scheduling, playlists, and looping; and Media with a 12-hour library, 4K video, scheduling, playlists, and looping. Those are product-page details, not a guarantee of current availability or stable pricing; check the live plan page and checkout for your region.
The official page retrieved for this comparison does not answer every practical limit, including the maximum loop duration and whether a playlist itself restarts. A competing service’s July 10, 2026 comparison reports a 40-hour loop cap and says playlists do not loop, but it is not Restream’s own documentation. Treat that as a prompt to verify, not as a settled current limit: ask Restream support or consult its current help center before relying on a specific cap.
3. Gyre: cloud playlist looping
Gyre’s documented workflow matches the continuous-playlist use case: upload videos, assemble a playlist, connect YouTube, schedule the broadcast, and let the playlist restart when it ends. YouTube’s official encoder directory also describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded YouTube videos.

That establishes the intended workflow, not a measured advantage in reliability, audience growth, retention, or monetization. Treat performance claims from a vendor as marketing unless independently substantiated, and check Gyre’s current destinations, limits, and plan price before choosing it.

StreamYard’s help center describes scheduling a prerecorded video to start automatically at a selected time, even when you are offline. The broadcast ends when the video is finished, making this a fit for an event or a one-time scheduled playback rather than a playlist that repeats indefinitely.
The same help article says prerecorded mode does not run through the normal live studio, so overlays and media assets cannot be controlled as they are in a standard live session. Comments can still be viewed on the destination.

5. OBS: local control, with the computer as part of the system
OBS is a local-encoder route for creators who want to configure scenes and manage a stream directly. YouTube’s official encoder help page is the starting point for creating an encoder-based live stream and reviewing supported tools. A local workflow can offer hands-on control, but it makes the computer, OBS, and network part of the broadcast path: if the machine sleeps, reboots, loses power, or loses internet, the stream can stop.
For a stream that needs to remain online without local equipment running, compare cloud playout services instead. For one video at a specific time, a scheduled prerecorded broadcast may be enough; for a playlist that must keep repeating, confirm continuous-loop behavior explicitly.

Other names to investigate
LiveReacting, OneStream Live, Upstream, and Castr also appear in a competing vendor’s July 10, 2026 comparison of always-on or prerecorded-video workflows. That comparison is a useful shortlist, not independent confirmation of each service’s current features. Before selecting one, verify its official documentation for YouTube support, playlist looping, schedule and duration caps, and current pricing. No comparative performance result establishes one as the best choice.
Copyright, reused content, and channel responsibility
A streaming tool automates delivery; it does not grant rights to the video, music, or other material you broadcast. Use content you created or are authorized to use, including any music and embedded clips, and check YouTube’s current copyright and monetization rules before running a long loop. Repeatedly broadcasting material does not by itself guarantee recommendations, watch time, monetization, or audience growth. Review the copyright safety checklist before scheduling a playlist.
Choose by continuity, not just the word “streaming”
- Choose a cloud-looping service when the playlist must restart automatically and the computer can be off.
- Choose a scheduled prerecorded broadcast when one finished video should start at a set time and end normally.
- Choose a local encoder when direct scene and production control matters and you can keep the computer and connection running.
- For Restream, confirm the specific loop and playlist limits in current official documentation rather than relying on an older or competitor-authored comparison.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot; and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
