The strongest comparison is between the specifications and intended uses published by each manufacturer: EGO’s cordless saw lists a 6,800-RPM brushless motor; Husqvarna’s 535i XP lists 1.9 hp output shaft power and 65.62 ft/s chain speed in a 14-inch tool-only configuration; and the gas-powered T435 offers a 14-inch bar option with 2.01 hp output shaft power. Those figures use different measures, so they do not prove which saw cuts best.
What a 14-inch bar does—and doesn’t—tell you
Fourteen inches describes the bar configuration, not a guaranteed cutting speed or the maximum size of wood a saw can handle. A bar length alone cannot tell you how quickly a saw will cut or whether it suits a particular job. Compare the exact model’s power and intended-use information, and confirm that the listing includes the 14-inch bar you want.

The models below are a useful shortlist, not a ranked test: no matched independent comparison of their cutting performance is established here.
How the three options compare
| Model and power source | 14-inch configuration | Manufacturer-published specifications | Intended use or notable details |
|---|---|---|---|
| EGO POWER+ cordless | 14-inch bar and chain listed on the product page; confirm the exact variant and what the seller includes. | EGO says its brushless motor delivers 6,800 RPM. This is a motor-speed figure, not an independent cutting-speed result. | EGO lists hardwood, softwood, and branches as cutting uses and describes the design as low kickback. |
| Husqvarna 535i XP cordless | US 14-inch tool-only configuration. | Husqvarna lists 40 V, 1.9 hp output shaft power, 65.62 ft/s chain speed, a brushless motor, and an automatic oil pump. | Tool-only means the listing must be checked for battery and charger inclusion. |
| Husqvarna T435 gas | Husqvarna’s US page offers 12-, 14-, and 16-inch bar options; verify the selected configuration with the seller. | Husqvarna lists 35.2 cm³ displacement, 2.01 hp output shaft power, and 62.3 ft/s chain speed. | The manufacturer describes it for pruning in parks, vineyards, and orchards. The page identifies an inertia-activated chain brake and recommends two-handed operation whenever possible. |
These are manufacturer-published specifications, not matched test measurements. RPM, output shaft horsepower, displacement, voltage, and chain speed describe different things; comparing the numbers directly cannot establish which saw cuts faster or handles a particular task better.

Which one fits your work?
Choose by power source and setup
The EGO and 535i XP are battery-powered options; the T435 is gas-powered. Those labels help frame your choice, but the available specifications do not establish a universal advantage for either power source. Consider the setup that suits your work, then check the exact listing for what comes in the box. In particular, the 535i XP configuration cited here is tool-only, so confirm compatible battery and charger requirements before buying.
Match the saw to the work the manufacturer describes
EGO lists hardwood, softwood, and branches among the uses for its 14-inch saw. Husqvarna describes the T435 for pruning in parks, vineyards, and orchards. These are manufacturer-stated applications, not a substitute for assessing your own job, material, or operating ability.

Check support and safety details
Husqvarna’s product pages provide product support and comparison information for the 535i XP, and a dealer locator for the T435. The T435 page also identifies an inertia-activated chain brake and recommends using both hands whenever possible. A listed safety feature does not make a chainsaw appropriate for inexperienced operation.
How to make a sound purchase comparison
- Confirm the configuration. Check that the exact listing includes a 14-inch bar and chain. This matters especially for the T435, whose manufacturer page offers several bar options.
- Check what is included. Look for battery and charger inclusion, especially when a listing is marked tool-only. Verify compatibility for any separately purchased battery or charger.
- Compare like with like. Treat each manufacturer’s power and speed figures as specifications in their stated units. Do not infer a winner by comparing unlike measures.
- Assess the task and local support. Compare the manufacturer’s stated applications with your work, and consider whether you can access suitable product support or a dealer.
What independent cutting evidence is available?
Consumer Reports’ 2026 review description says its technicians evaluate how easily a chainsaw cuts through a 10-inch-thick oak beam in one test. That description gives a test-method detail, not a result for the three models above. It does not establish that these 14-inch saws were tested against one another, so it cannot support a performance ranking.
