For a low-motion devotional music stream, start with 1280×720 at 30 fps, H.264 video using CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and AAC stereo audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. Use YouTube’s recommended 8,000 kbps video bitrate if your upload connection can sustain it; 3,000 kbps is a constrained starting floor, not the quality target. Test with your actual audio and scene, then adjust to keep the connection stable.
Recommended OBS settings for 720p30
This is a practical starting configuration for a mostly static image, album artwork, or similarly low-motion visual. YouTube’s figures are encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer or connection will sustain a 24/7 broadcast. The 720p30 choice is an editorial fit for low-motion content and limited bandwidth, not a uniquely optimal official preset.

Configure the stream and test the whole chain
- Set the video canvas and output. In OBS, open Settings and choose Video. Set the output resolution to 1280×720 and the common frame rate to 30 fps. If your source or system struggles, prioritize a stable output rather than increasing resolution or frame rate.
- Set video encoding. Under Settings → Output, use the H.264 encoder, CBR rate control, an appropriate video bitrate, and a 2-second keyframe interval. YouTube’s listed H.264 recommendation for 720p30 is 8,000 kbps, with 3,000 kbps as the minimum. Match the bitrate to measured, sustained upload capacity, not a brief speed-test peak.
- Set audio. In OBS audio output settings, select AAC stereo at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. Play representative devotional music through the actual scene and confirm the meter does not peak into clipping.
- Configure the YouTube connection. Create or schedule a YouTube live stream, then enter its stream key in OBS. Keep the key private: anyone with access may be able to broadcast to that stream. Select RTMPS where it is available.
- Run a private or unlisted test. YouTube explicitly advises: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Test the complete scene and audio chain with representative content, check YouTube Live Control Room stream health, and watch OBS’s connection status and dropped frames.
YouTube’s encoder workflow and archive guidance are in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder. The OBS Help Portal explains that increasing dropped frames with a yellow or red connection status points to an unstable connection or one that cannot keep up with the configured bitrate. OBS’s Auto-Configuration Wizard can help establish basic settings, but verify the actual stream results afterward.

Choose bitrate for sustained upload headroom
Bitrate consumes upload capacity continuously. A configured rate that your connection cannot sustain can cause dropped frames or interruptions even if it looks acceptable in a short test. If dropped frames rise, lower the video bitrate first; if the connection remains unstable, reduce resolution and test again. Re-test at the time and on the network you plan to use, because the relevant measure is stable, sustained upload capacity.
- Stable headroom for 8,000 kbps: use YouTube’s recommended H.264 rate for 720p30 and monitor stream health.
- Limited headroom: 3,000 kbps is YouTube’s stated minimum for H.264 720p30, not a promise of ideal picture quality. If it still cannot be sustained, reduce the output resolution or reconsider whether the connection is suitable for continuous streaming.
- Changing codecs: H.265 and AV1 are also listed by YouTube, but encoder support and workflow reliability matter. Do not switch codecs solely on the assumption that a setting will fix an unstable connection.
Plan archives and continuity for a 24/7 schedule
YouTube automatically archives streams that are under 12 hours. A nominal 24/7 broadcast cannot rely on one stream being automatically archived as a single under-12-hour event. If archives matter, arrange planned segments or restarts under that threshold and verify the workflow on your channel in advance.

The cited YouTube guidance does not promise indefinite ingest or automatic recovery after a power or network outage. Test the scheduled start and stop process and keep an eye on both OBS and Live Control Room during operation. An optional UPS may help keep a local encoder and network equipment powered through a brief power interruption, but it will not fix an ISP, YouTube ingest, or platform outage; the runtime depends on the equipment connected.

Confirm music rights before going live
Hindi, devotional, religious, or traditional music is not automatically free to livestream. Rights depend on the actual composition, arrangement, performance, and sound recording, and the available platform guidance cannot establish whether a particular recording is cleared in a particular territory. Confirm that you have permission for the material and intended livestream territory before broadcasting. YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service and may restrict or remove streams that violate its rules; see Get started with live streaming.
