If you want a case that charges your Nintendo Switch 2 while you travel, the Belkin Charging Case Pro is the direct option in this group: reviews describe it as having a built-in battery. PowerA and Nacon offer protective storage instead, while Nyko’s Thin Case is an attached shell for play—not a carrying or charging case.
How the alternatives differ
| Option | Charges Switch 2? | What it carries or covers | Form and portability | Price information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Belkin Charging Case Pro | Yes. T3 and Tom’s Guide describe a built-in 10,000mAh battery; Tom’s Guide reports 30W charging. | Carrying case with a stand, according to Tom’s Guide. | Travel case with integrated charging; no comparable independent size or weight figures are available here. | T3 showed $99.99 in its reviewed listing when accessed; that is not a guaranteed current price. |
| PowerA Protection Case | No built-in charging is specified by PowerA. | Removable holder for nine game cards and two microSD Express cards, plus a mesh pocket for small accessories. | Conventional protective travel case; suited to games and small items rather than a dock. | PowerA’s page showed $24.99 when accessed; check the current listing. |
| Nacon Protection Case XL | No built-in charging is described in the cited review. | TechRadar says it fits the console, dock, ten game cards, and some accessories, such as a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip and power cable. | Large travel case. TechRadar describes it as bulky, so it is a poor fit if minimizing bag space is the priority. | Not stated in the cited review. |
| Nyko Thin Case | No battery or charging function is established by Nyko’s catalog listing. | An attached shell for the console, rather than a storage case. | Stays on the console during play; not a substitute for padded travel storage. The catalog listing does not establish impact protection or fit performance. | Not stated in the cited catalog listing. |
There is no consistent independent comparison here of dimensions, weight, drop protection, or battery runtime. Treat the stated capacities as product specifications or reviewer descriptions, not as results from a side-by-side test.

Choose Belkin if charging in the case is the priority
T3 and Tom’s Guide report that the Belkin Charging Case Pro has a built-in 10,000mAh battery. Tom’s Guide also reports 30W charging and describes a stand intended for tabletop play. Its reviewer estimates that the battery can recharge the console about 1.5 times; that is an estimate, not a guaranteed result or a comparable laboratory measurement.

Choose PowerA for games and small accessories
PowerA’s Protection Case is a simpler storage choice if you do not need a battery or room for a dock. PowerA lists a molded, plush-lined fit, a removable holder for nine game cards and two microSD Express cards, and a mesh pocket for small items such as a cable, earbuds, or Joy-Con 2 wrist straps. These are manufacturer-stated storage details, not independent protection-test results.
Its listed price was $24.99 when the page was accessed, but that figure may no longer be current. Compare the live listing with the total cost of any separate charging gear you still need.

Choose Nacon XL to bring the dock
TechRadar says the Nacon Protection Case XL can hold the Switch 2 console, its dock, ten game cards, and a few accessories, including a Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip and power cable. That extra capacity comes with a portability trade-off: the reviewer calls the case bulky. It is therefore the more relevant storage option when taking the dock matters more than keeping a bag slim; it is not described as a charging case.
Nyko Thin Case is a shell, not a travel case
Nyko’s catalog lists Thin Case options for Switch 2. This is an attached shell for use with the console, not a padded case for carrying extra gear and not a battery case. The catalog listing alone does not establish how well it fits or how much impact protection it provides.

Check charger compatibility before relying on older gear
Nintendo says, “A Nintendo Switch AC adapter (HAC-002) can be used to charge the Nintendo Switch 2 console directly but not with the Nintendo Switch 2 dock for charging or TV mode.” In other words, an original Switch adapter may charge the console directly, but Nintendo does not support using it with the Switch 2 dock for charging or TV output. Nintendo also marks the original Switch dock as incompatible with Switch 2.
For an unlicensed replacement AC adapter, Nintendo Support advises 54W or more, while still recommending a licensed Switch 2 adapter; Nintendo says unlicensed products are not tested and evaluated by Nintendo. Check Nintendo’s compatibility guidance and the product maker’s current specifications before treating an older adapter or dock as part of your setup.
