The best microwave popcorn popper depends on what matters most to you: popped capacity, compact storage, cleanup, materials, or a particular microwave’s power. No independent comparison establishes one model as the universal winner. Compare each manufacturer’s specifications carefully—especially whether capacity means raw kernels or popped popcorn—and follow the directions for the exact popper you buy.
The documented choices illustrate why a single “best” label can mislead. Nordic Ware’s Pro Pop is a rigid, high-heat-plastic bowl with a stated 16-cup popped capacity and a five-year warranty. Tupperware’s WOW Pop combines a glass tray with a collapsible silicone base and specifies raw-kernel capacity instead. Dell Cove sells a collapsible silicone design and publishes its own popped-volume and timing claims. Those differences affect cupboard space, handling, washing and batch size before you ever compare brands.

What matters when choosing a microwave popcorn popper?
A useful comparison starts with the way you plan to use and store the popper. A bowl that suits a family movie night may be unnecessarily large for one person, while a collapsible model may be valuable in a small kitchen even if its capacity is not the largest stated number. Check these details on the specific product listing and in its instructions:

- Capacity and measurement: A raw-kernel weight and a volume of popped popcorn describe different things. Do not treat them as equivalent serving sizes or rank them by the number alone.
- Construction: The examples below use high-heat plastic, glass with silicone, or collapsible silicone. Material affects rigidity, heat handling, visibility, storage and care.
- Cleaning: Dishwasher guidance differs by model and component. Check the manufacturer’s instructions rather than assuming a popper is dishwasher-safe.
- Storage: A collapsible base may take less cupboard space than a rigid bowl. Confirm that the lid or other pieces also store conveniently.
- Oil: Some instructions make oil optional. Check the directions for your model; do not assume every popper works the same way.
- Microwave directions: Stated times and power limits are product-specific guidance, not universal cooking guarantees.
- Handling: Hot cookware, steam and glass require care. Look for oven-mitt directions and warnings about damaged components.
- Warranty and listing details: A warranty can matter for long-term value, but terms belong to the individual product and sales region. Verify the current listing before buying.
Capacity: compare the measurement before the number
Capacity is one of the easiest specifications to misread. Nordic Ware lists the Pro Pop at 16 cups of popped popcorn. Dell Cove’s merchant listing says its collapsible silicone popper makes more than nine cups popped. Tupperware instead states that the WOW Pop holds up to 2.5 ounces (72 grams) of raw kernels. A raw-kernel weight is measured before expansion; cups of popcorn are measured afterward. These are not interchangeable units, so they cannot establish which bowl produces a larger batch from the same kernels.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use the capacity claim for planning, not as a laboratory comparison. If you usually make a single snack, a nine-cup-or-larger popped specification may already be adequate. If several people share a batch, a stated 16-cup popped capacity may be more convenient, provided the finished volume fits your serving bowls and the model’s instructions allow the amount of kernels you intend to use. A raw-kernel limit such as Tupperware’s 2.5 ounces gives you a measured starting quantity, but it still does not predict an identical popped volume for every kernel variety, moisture level or microwave.
Before ordering, look for three separate details: the maximum raw-kernel amount, the resulting popped-volume claim (if one is given), and whether the listed capacity includes headroom for expansion. Never fill a vessel to its rim with kernels simply because the empty bowl looks large. Use the manufacturer’s measure and loading instructions. If a listing presents only a popped-cup figure, contact the seller or consult the manual for the corresponding kernel quantity rather than guessing.
How do the documented poppers compare?
The figures below come from product makers or a merchant, not from controlled side-by-side testing. Capacity figures use different measurement bases, so they should not be ranked as though they measured the same thing.

| Nordic Ware Pro Pop | 16 cups popped, according to Nordic Ware | High-heat plastic; rigid design | Oil is optional. Nordic Ware gives an approximate cooking time of 2:15–2:45. | Hand wash; dishwasher use is not recommended. Nordic Ware lists a five-year warranty. |
| Tupperware WOW Pop | Up to 2.5 oz / 72 g of raw kernels, according to Tupperware | Glass popping tray and silicone base; collapsible design | About three minutes at up to 1,000 W, according to Tupperware. | Tupperware describes the components as dishwasher-safe. |
| Dell Cove collapsible silicone popper | More than nine cups popped, according to Dell Cove Spices & More Co. | Collapsible silicone design | Oil is optional. The merchant gives a typical range of 2.5–4 minutes, dependent on the microwave. | The merchant describes the parts as dishwasher-safe. |
Nordic Ware’s and Dell Cove’s capacities are stated as popped volume; Tupperware’s is raw-kernel weight. Those values cannot establish which product makes more popcorn from the same amount of kernels. The timing claims also come from different makers and are not a performance comparison.
Which design fits your priorities?
Choose around storage and cleanup
If cupboard space is tight, the collapsible bases described for the Tupperware WOW Pop and Dell Cove popper are relevant features to check. A collapsible silicone body can flatten between uses, which may help in a crowded cabinet or apartment kitchen. Confirm how far it collapses, whether the lid or tray remains rigid, and whether all pieces can be stored together; the product descriptions establish collapsibility but do not provide a universal folded dimension.

If you prefer a rigid bowl, the Nordic Ware Pro Pop is a high-heat-plastic example. Rigidity can make a bowl straightforward to fill and carry, but it also means the empty vessel keeps its full footprint. Cleaning requirements differ: Nordic Ware recommends hand washing its Pro Pop, while Tupperware and Dell Cove describe their respective products as dishwasher-safe. “Dishwasher-safe” should still be read component by component. Remove any part the manual says to remove, and follow temperature or rack guidance if the instructions provide it.
Choose around how much popcorn you make
Start with the capacity unit, not the headline number. Nordic Ware lists 16 cups of popped popcorn for the Pro Pop; Dell Cove’s merchant listing says more than nine cups popped; Tupperware lists up to 2.5 ounces (72 grams) of raw kernels. Because raw kernels and popped volume are different stages, these specifications do not provide a like-for-like capacity ranking.
Think about serving workflow as well as volume. A popper that doubles as the serving bowl may save a transfer step, while a glass tray or silicone base may separate cooking and serving functions. The cited descriptions do not promise a particular number of servings, so use your usual portion size and the maker’s stated kernel limit to decide whether one batch is enough.
Choose around materials and heat handling
The cited products include high-heat plastic, glass with a silicone base, and collapsible silicone. Glass lets you see the contents while heating, but it must be inspected for damage. QVC-hosted Ecolution Micro-Pop instructions warn against using chipped or cracked glass. They also advise stopping if popping has not begun within 90 seconds. A silicone base can provide a collapsible format, while high-heat plastic gives the Nordic Ware Pro Pop its rigid form; neither material description alone proves better popping performance.
Use oven mitts when the manufacturer directs, since the container, lid or components can be hot after microwaving. Hot steam can escape when a lid is removed, so open it away from your face and hands if the manual gives no contrary procedure. Do not use a damaged glass tray, and do not transfer warnings from the Ecolution sheet to every other product without checking that model’s own manual.

Oil, kernels and seasoning
Oil is not automatically required. Nordic Ware’s Classic instructions, updated August 12, 2025, say one to two tablespoons of oil are optional, and Nordic Ware also describes oil as optional for the Pro Pop. Dell Cove likewise states that oil is optional. These directions demonstrate that an air-popped-style batch may be possible in those designs, but they do not authorize the same method for every popper. Tupperware’s page should be followed for the WOW Pop’s exact ingredient directions.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Kernels are the required starting ingredient in the cited instructions. Add only the quantity the manual specifies and keep seasonings for after popping unless the maker expressly permits additions during cooking. Salt, spices and other toppings can be natural serving choices, but the product directions control what belongs in the vessel during microwaving. If you want buttery or heavily seasoned popcorn, pop first, then season in the bowl so you do not exceed the stated kernel or oil limits.
How to use a popper without treating the timer as a guarantee
- Read the instructions for the exact model. Confirm the amount of kernels to use, whether oil is optional, any microwave power limit, how the lid or cover is positioned, and the manufacturer’s stopping guidance. Product pages can change, so retain the manual that comes with your unit.
- Inspect the popper before loading. Look for cracks, chips, warped parts or a lid that does not fit as directed. Ecolution’s instructions specifically caution against chipped or cracked glass. Do not use a damaged component.
- Add kernels and oil only as directed. Measure the kernels rather than filling by eye. Nordic Ware’s Classic instructions allow one to two tablespoons of optional oil, and Nordic Ware marks oil optional for the Pro Pop; that guidance does not automatically apply to another model.
- Use the maker’s timing as a starting point. Nordic Ware gives the Pro Pop an approximate 2:15–2:45; Tupperware says around three minutes at a maximum of 1,000 watts; Dell Cove gives a typical 2.5–4 minute range that depends on the microwave. These are product-specific claims, not guaranteed times for every microwave.
- Stay nearby and listen. Popping rate is a better practical signal than blindly extending the timer. If the manual says to stop when popping slows, stop then even if the published maximum time has not elapsed.
- Respect the 90-second warning where it applies. Ecolution’s instructions say to stop if popping does not begin within 90 seconds. That is a safety instruction for the Ecolution product, not a universal test for every popper, so consult your own manual when the behavior is unusual.
- Remove the vessel carefully. Use oven mitts where directed and assume the bowl, lid and escaping steam may be hot. Set it on a heat-resistant surface.
- Wait and open safely. Allow steam to clear, then remove the cover in the manner specified by the maker. Keep your face and fingers away from the opening.
- Clean and dry according to the manual. Nordic Ware recommends hand washing the Pro Pop and does not recommend a dishwasher. Tupperware and Dell Cove describe their parts as dishwasher-safe, but use the permitted method for each component and let collapsible silicone pieces dry fully before storing.
- Do not re-pop automatically. Nordic Ware’s Classic instructions say not to re-pop unpopped kernels. Unless another model expressly permits a second cycle, discard or set aside unpopped kernels rather than reheating them.
Common buying and use mistakes
- Comparing unlike capacity figures: Popped cups and raw-kernel ounces or grams are not interchangeable measurements.
- Assuming all poppers are dishwasher-safe: Nordic Ware does not recommend dishwasher use for the Pro Pop, while Tupperware and Dell Cove describe their models as dishwasher-safe.
- Copying another model’s cooking time: A maker’s estimate is tied to its product and directions. Microwave power, kernel moisture and popping behavior can vary.
- Ignoring a wattage limit: Tupperware’s approximately three-minute direction is stated for microwaves up to 1,000 watts. Do not treat that as permission to use a higher-powered microwave without guidance.
- Continuing to heat after popping slows: Follow the model’s stopping guidance instead of relying on the timer alone.
- Using a damaged glass tray: Chipped or cracked glass is specifically warned against in the Ecolution instructions.
- Filling by visual volume: Kernels expand substantially. Measure the instructed raw amount and leave the required room for expansion.
- Re-popping unpopped kernels without checking the manual: Nordic Ware’s Classic instructions say not to re-pop. Do not assume another model permits it.
- Assuming a collapsible bowl is automatically easier to store: Check whether the base, lid and tray nest together and whether they are completely dry before collapsing.
- Treating merchant claims as independent test results: Dell Cove’s capacity, timing and cleaning statements are merchant-published information, not a controlled comparison.
Cost and value: what you can evaluate without a universal winner
Prices, shipping and availability change by seller and region, and the cited product information does not establish a stable price comparison. Instead of choosing solely by the lowest current listing, compare the complete ownership proposition: the stated capacity, storage footprint, cleaning effort, material preferences, warranty terms and the cost of any replacement part the seller lists. Nordic Ware identifies a five-year warranty for the Pro Pop; confirm what that warranty covers and whether it applies in your location.
A dishwasher-safe description may be valuable if hand washing is inconvenient, while a collapsible design may justify a different price when cabinet space is scarce. Conversely, a rigid bowl may be preferable if you want a simple, ready-to-fill shape and do not mind hand washing. These are practical value judgments, not evidence that one construction pops better. Check the current product page, seller reputation and return terms before paying, particularly when a merchant listing supplies the only capacity or timing claim.
A practical checklist before you buy
- Write down the batch size you normally need and compare it with the maker’s measurement basis.
- Decide whether a rigid bowl or collapsible storage better fits your cabinet.
- Confirm the material and inspect any glass component on arrival.
- Read the oil and kernel directions rather than relying on generic popcorn recipes.
- Check the microwave wattage limit and the stated timing range.
- Look for a stop-when-popping-slows instruction and any 90-second or other warning.
- Verify dishwasher status for every removable component.
- Note the warranty, regional availability, seller and return policy.
- Save the manual so future users do not copy a different model’s directions.
What the available specifications can—and cannot—tell you
The manufacturer and merchant pages establish particular features, stated capacities, care guidance and approximate timing for these examples. They do not establish which popper produces the fewest unpopped kernels, tastes best, lasts longest or performs best across microwave models. There is no controlled comparative result here that supports declaring a universal winner. Check the current listing for the region where you plan to buy and confirm that the instructions match the exact model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Nordic Ware Pro Pop larger than the Tupperware WOW Pop?
The published figures cannot answer that directly. Nordic Ware states 16 cups of popped popcorn, while Tupperware states up to 2.5 ounces (72 grams) of raw kernels. Because those measurements describe different stages, they are not a like-for-like size comparison.
Do I need oil in a microwave popcorn popper?
Not necessarily. Nordic Ware says one to two tablespoons are optional in its Classic instructions and describes oil as optional for the Pro Pop; Dell Cove also lists oil as optional. Follow the exact model’s instructions rather than transferring one maker’s recipe to another popper.
Which documented popper is easiest to clean?
Tupperware describes the WOW Pop components as dishwasher-safe, and Dell Cove describes its parts that way as well. Nordic Ware recommends hand washing the Pro Pop and does not recommend dishwasher use. Verify the care directions for every component of the model you purchase.
Are collapsible microwave poppers better for small kitchens?
They may be more convenient when cupboard space is limited. Tupperware’s WOW Pop and Dell Cove’s popper are described as collapsible, while the Nordic Ware Pro Pop is a rigid high-heat-plastic bowl. Check the folded footprint and how the lid or tray stores before deciding.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Can I use the listed cooking time in any microwave?
No. Nordic Ware gives approximately 2:15–2:45 for the Pro Pop, Tupperware gives about three minutes at up to 1,000 watts, and Dell Cove gives 2.5–4 minutes depending on the microwave. Treat these as model-specific starting points and stop when the instructions say popping has slowed.

What should I do if the popcorn does not start popping?
Follow your model’s manual. The Ecolution instructions say to stop if popping has not begun within 90 seconds. Do not keep heating indefinitely or apply that warning as a universal rule without checking the instructions for your own popper.
Can I re-pop the kernels that remain unpopped?
Nordic Ware’s Classic instructions say not to re-pop unpopped kernels. Unless another manufacturer expressly allows a second cycle, do not assume it is safe or recommended.
Is there a proven best microwave popcorn popper?
No controlled comparison among these examples establishes a universal winner. Choose by the measurement basis for capacity, materials, storage, cleaning, oil policy, microwave limits, warranty and the directions that fit your kitchen.
