There is no single best mouse for every 3D designer. If your work depends on frequent middle-click navigation in CAD, a dedicated CAD mouse such as the wired 3Dconnexion CadMouse Pro is worth considering. For a mix of image editing, video timelines, and everyday desk work, the Logitech MX Master 3S offers app-specific customization and scroll controls. Your software, hand fit, preferred connection, and the controls you use most should decide the choice.
Choose by workflow, not by the word “3D”
“Best mouse for CAD” and “best mouse for Fusion 360” are useful ways to describe a search, but they do not identify one universal shape or feature set. CAD navigation often makes middle-click important; image editing and timeline work may benefit more from configurable buttons and scrolling. A mouse optimized for productivity is not automatically a CAD navigation controller.

Which mouse fits CAD and 3D modeling?
Wired CadMouse Pro: prioritize middle-click access
The wired CadMouse Pro is the clearest match in this group for someone whose CAD workflow repeatedly uses the middle button. 3Dconnexion describes it as a full-size wired mouse for CAD professionals and lists a dedicated middle button, high-resolution optical sensor, 1000 Hz polling, and a three-year warranty. Those are manufacturer-provided details; they do not demonstrate that the mouse will be more comfortable or productive for every user.

Its dedicated middle button may be a practical reason to try it if you find a conventional wheel-click awkward during CAD navigation. Confirm that the wired connection suits your workstation and compare the shape with your usual grip before buying.
CadMouse Pro Wireless: CAD-focused, with software-dependent functions
The wireless CadMouse Pro is not simply the wired version with its cable removed. RTINGS’ comparison describes it as designed for 3D CAD, and 3Dconnexion’s manual documents CAD zoom behavior on its thumb buttons. The manual also says 3DxWare is needed to use all functions. Check the manual and software support for your operating system and application before relying on those controls.

MX Master 3S: configurable productivity controls
The MX Master 3S is a productivity mouse that may suit creative work when configurable controls and scrolling are more useful than a dedicated CAD navigation layout. Logitech’s product and getting-started pages list customizations for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and other apps through Logi Options+. Treat those as manufacturer-listed software examples, not proof of compatibility with every version, operating system, or workflow. Check Logitech’s current support information for the specific product version and computer you use.

MX Master 4: check the current generation before choosing
Tom’s Guide and Creative Bloq include the MX Master 4 in 2026 editorial mouse roundups as a newer MX Master generation. Those roundups are editorial recommendations, not lab comparisons establishing that it is better for your work. The sources here do not establish its exact specifications, price, regional availability, or software support. - Identify your most-used control. If you regularly use middle-click to navigate CAD, give the CadMouse Pro family closer consideration. If app-specific shortcuts and scrolling matter more, compare the MX Master models.
- Check your software and operating system. For MX Master 3S customization, verify Logi Options+ support for your version. For the wireless CadMouse Pro’s full functions, check 3DxWare support and the manual.
- Decide whether you want wired or wireless. The CadMouse Pro discussed here is wired; the CadMouse Pro Wireless is a separate option. Logitech lists Logi Bolt and Bluetooth Low Energy for the MX Master 3S.
