Best Low-Cost Cloud Server in India for a 4K 60fps YouTube Live Stream

A 1Gbps port does not prove 4K60 capability. See what YouTube recommends, what India VPS listings actually claim, and how to test before buying.

There is no verified low-cost India server that can be named the best for sustained, real-time 4K60 YouTube encoding on the available evidence. YouTube recommends 35 Mbps H.264 video bitrate for 4K/2160p at 60fps, but an advertised 1Gbps port—or a plan marketed for streaming—does not prove that a server can encode your source at that quality, sustain a reliable route to YouTube, or include enough monthly data transfer. Treat the providers below as candidates to investigate, not tested winners.

The right choice depends first on what you are sending: a live camera or gameplay source that must be encoded on the server, an already encoded feed that only needs relaying, or prerecorded videos to loop. Those are different workloads, and a VPS suited to one may not suit the others.

First, identify the workload

Live camera or gameplay that needs encoding

If the server must render or transcode your live source into 4K60, you need verified, sustained encoder capacity as well as a stable outbound connection. Ask the provider for the exact CPU or GPU allocation and encoder access; a plan’s RAM, vCore count, or port speed alone does not establish real-time 4K60 performance.

An already encoded feed that needs relaying

Relaying an existing encoded stream generally demands less compute than encoding or transcoding it. But the provider still needs to confirm that the server can sustain your bitrate and route reliably to YouTube ingest. A claim about a 1080p relay is not evidence of 4K60 relay performance.

Prerecorded videos or a playlist

Looping uploaded videos is not the same as broadcasting a live camera or gameplay feed. If your source is prerecorded material for a continuous YouTube stream, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: it runs from the cloud, accepts uploaded video up to 4K60 as supplied, and has one flat price per slot.

What YouTube requires for a 4K60 stream

YouTube’s indexed English live-encoder guidance recommends 35 Mbps H.264 video bitrate for 4K/2160p at 60fps. It lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 video codecs, supports up to 60fps, and recommends constant bitrate (CBR) encoding. For protocol, YouTube recommends RTMPS over RTMP. Its guidance recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s live encoder settings for the current platform guidance; the page is dynamic, so check it again before configuring a stream.

These are YouTube ingest settings, not a guarantee about a server’s encoding performance. YouTube also recommends testing with representative audio and movement, watching stream health, and reviewing any messages. Its guidance says 4K streams use normal latency rather than the low-latency option.

How much bandwidth a continuous 4K60 stream uses

At a steady 35 Mbps video bitrate, a 30-day continuous stream sends about 11.34 decimal TB of video payload. This is a calculation using that bitrate and a 30-day duration; it excludes audio, protocol overhead, retransmissions, and extra operating headroom. Budget for more than the video-payload figure.

A port-speed label and a monthly transfer quota describe different limits. A 1Gbps port does not mean a plan includes a terabyte-scale monthly allowance, nor does it prove that the port’s full speed is sustained or dedicated. Check whether transfer is included or metered, how overages are charged, whether “unmetered” has a fair-use policy, and whether traffic is counted in one or both directions.

Provider What its listing says What that establishes for 4K60
Inservers Advertises India streaming VPS hosting from ₹880/month, with an entry configuration of 2 vCores, 4GB RAM, and a 1Gbps unmetered uplink. It describes that entry plan as suitable for one 1080p60 relay without transcoding and points to higher tiers for heavier FFmpeg transcoding. Its stated entry use is a 1080p60 relay, not proof of 4K60 encoding or relaying. “Unmetered” terms and sustained performance should be confirmed with the provider. See Inservers’ plan information.
NivoHost Its plan page lists ₹699/month for RDP 1 at one handle, 360p/10fps, and 20TB bandwidth; ₹1,799/month for two handles at 720p/30fps; and ₹3,499/month for three handles at 1080p/60fps and 20TB bandwidth. The page also advertises a 1Gbps port. The listed tiers top out at 1080p60, not 4K60. The port speed is not the same as the monthly transfer allowance. See NivoHost’s plan page.
CloudPe Identifies Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Chennai hubs and describes general VPS infrastructure, including GPU instances. Its search result advertises a starting price of ₹930/month. The reviewed page does not establish the exact plan’s 4K60 encoder capability, transfer allowance for this workload, or sustained performance to YouTube. Get written details before treating it as a candidate. See CloudPe’s VPS information.

These listings are starting points for questions, not a recommendation that any of the advertised plans will handle your exact source. Inservers’ stated entry use is explicitly a 1080p60 relay without transcoding, while NivoHost’s reviewed tiers top out at 1080p60. CloudPe’s reviewed information does not establish the necessary 4K60 workload details.

How to choose and test a server before committing

  1. Ask for the exact configuration in writing. Request the server or instance model, CPU generation and allocation, GPU model and encoder access, data-transfer quota, fair-use policy, port contention policy, and the physical region. Clarify taxes, renewal pricing, snapshots, IP charges, storage, any Windows license, refund terms, and support availability.
  2. Confirm the workload, not just the product name. Tell the provider whether you need live encoding, transcoding, or relay of an already encoded feed. Ask specifically whether the offered resources can sustain your intended 3840×2160, 60fps source and codec in real time. Do not infer this from a “streaming VPS” label.
  3. Test from the intended region and route. Mumbai, Delhi NCR, or Chennai may be a reasonable starting region depending on your setup, but location alone does not establish a good route to YouTube ingest. Measure sustained upload and packet loss to the chosen ingest endpoint, and check YouTube stream health during the run.
  4. Run your exact source and settings. Use representative motion and audio at 3840×2160/60fps with the intended codec and bitrate. Watch for encoder overload, dropped frames, unstable throughput, packet loss, and YouTube health warnings. A short connection check is not a substitute for a representative long run.
  5. Check operations and recovery. Verify that your chosen encoder can run on the server and, if using OBS, account for any remote desktop or display requirements. Set up process supervision, monitoring, and restart behavior, then test what happens after an encoder failure or connection drop.
  6. Start with a short billing term. Avoid an annual commitment until the exact workload has run successfully and the provider’s transfer, renewal, and recovery terms are clear.

Common reasons a low-cost server fails the job

  • The stream cannot hold 60fps or drops frames: the encoder may be overloaded or unavailable to your workload. Check CPU/GPU use and encoder access, then ask the provider about a higher sustained allocation; do not assume a bigger port fixes compute limits.
  • YouTube reports poor stream health: bitrate may be unstable, frames may be dropping, or the route may be unreliable. Review YouTube’s health messages, test sustained throughput and packet loss, and try a different ingest endpoint or region only after measuring it.
  • The stream stops when a data limit is reached: the port may be fast while the monthly allowance is exhausted. Check quota, overage, and fair-use terms, and compare expected usage—including overhead—with the allowance.
  • OBS will not run as expected on a headless server: remote desktop, display, or GPU encoder requirements may differ from a desktop setup. Confirm these requirements for the specific OS and server configuration before purchase.
  • A “relay” plan cannot transcode your source: forwarding an encoded feed and converting a source into 4K60 are different tasks. Confirm whether transcoding is included and test the exact workflow.

Or let it run in the cloud

If your stream is made from uploaded videos or a playlist—not a live camera or gameplay feed—StreamNeo is a managed YouTube option rather than a VPS you administer. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploads from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Your video streams as uploaded, up to 4K60, at one price per slot; automatic recovery can resume the stream if YouTube drops it.
