There is no single best setting for every Logitech speaker. Start with the model: the G560 has a customizable multi-frequency EQ and app profiles, the Z407 has a bass-level dial, and the Z906 offers simulated-surround modes and individual channel levels. Use those controls as intended, then adjust by ear for your content and room.
Identify your speaker and its available controls
| Model | Documented controls | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| G560 | Custom frequency equalizer and application-specific profiles in Logitech Gaming Software | You can change frequency levels and save different EQ settings for applications. Logitech does not prescribe a particular dialogue, music, or gaming curve. Logitech G560 audio customization instructions |
| Z407 | Adjustable bass level via the wireless control dial | This is bass adjustment, not a documented multi-band equalizer. Logitech Z407 bass-level instructions |
| Z906 | 2.1, 4.1, and 3D simulated-surround modes, plus individual channel levels | Choose how stereo is played across the system and balance speaker channels; these modes do not turn stereo source material into native multichannel audio. Logitech Z906 simulated-surround instructions and channel-level instructions |
Set Logitech speakers for clear dialogue
For speech that sounds buried, first try reducing excessive bass rather than boosting every other frequency. Strong low-frequency output can mask voices, especially at higher listening levels. Treat this as a listening adjustment, not a Logitech-prescribed preset or a guaranteed fix.

G560: make small EQ changes
In Logitech Gaming Software, select the G560 and open its mixing board, then use the equalizer page to adjust frequencies. Make modest changes while replaying a familiar line of dialogue; save the result to an application profile if you want it to apply to a specific app. Logitech documents the controls and profiles, but does not provide a dialogue-specific curve. See Logitech’s G560 instructions.
Z407: lower bass gradually
Use the wireless control dial to move the bass level down until voices are easier to follow without making the overall sound thin. Logitech’s instructions suggest turning the dial to its maximum and minimum to hear the endpoint tones, then choosing a preferred level. See Logitech’s Z407 bass guidance.

Z906: balance channels, not just the subwoofer
The Z906 console allows individual channel levels to be adjusted. If dialogue from multichannel content is too quiet, check the center channel level; if the system is being used for stereo content, remember that the 2.1 mode uses front speakers and subwoofer, while 4.1 duplicates the front left and right channels to the rear speakers and has no center channel. Logitech’s channel-level instructions
Set Logitech speakers for music
Start from a balanced, comfortable volume and avoid bass that overwhelms vocals or instruments. On a G560, use its frequency EQ for small adjustments rather than assuming a universal “music” curve. On a Z407, use the bass dial to find a level that supports the track without dominating it. The right balance depends on the recording, placement, room, and personal preference.

Set Logitech speakers for gaming
G560: use an app-specific profile if useful
The G560’s Logitech Gaming Software equalizer can use per-profile mode to associate EQ settings with applications. This lets you keep a game-specific adjustment separate from settings used for other apps. The documented feature does not establish one best gaming curve. G560 profile instructions
Z906: match the mode to the game’s output
Use the game’s actual audio output as your guide. For stereo content, 2.1 keeps playback on the front speakers and subwoofer; 4.1 sends duplicated front left and right channels to the rear speakers; and 3D simulates a 5.1 experience with independent content across speakers. Logitech notes that games, streaming services, TV, and DVDs may provide stereo rather than surround audio, so the effect of a simulated mode varies with the source. Choose the mode that sounds clearest and most useful in your setup. Z906 mode details from Logitech

How to choose and troubleshoot a setting
- Check the model name. Find it on the speaker or its product information; do not assume another Logitech model has the same controls.
- Use only the control your model provides. G560 owners can adjust EQ frequencies and application profiles, Z407 owners can adjust bass, and Z906 owners can adjust surround mode and channel levels.
- Make one change at a time. Replay the same speech, song passage, or game scene at a similar volume so you can judge the effect instead of relying on memory.
- Check the source format. On a Z906, confirm whether the source is stereo or multichannel before judging a simulated-surround mode.
- Revert if clarity gets worse. Return a control toward its earlier position, then try a smaller adjustment. There is no documented numeric EQ curve that suits all Logitech speakers or listeners.
Resetting a Z407
If you need to start over, a Z407 factory reset restores volume, EQ/bass level, and the Bluetooth connected-device list to factory settings. Follow Logitech’s Z407 reset instructions.

Logitech G HUB documentation describes surround settings and channel controls for Logitech G audio devices, but the cited guidance specifically concerns headset surround. It also says DTS Headphone:X 2.0 is Windows-only. That is not evidence that every Logitech speaker offers those controls, so use the instructions for your specific speaker model instead.
