For home photo printing with document printing and scanning as secondary needs, HP’s Envy Photo 7275 and Envy Photo 7975 are the clearest options in its current US comparison: both have a dedicated photo tray and photo-formulated ink. Choose the 7975 if you also want an automatic document feeder (ADF) for multipage scanning or copying; HP does not list an ADF for the 7275. These are manufacturer-described choices, not independently tested winners.

What is the best HP photo printer?

For a US buyer looking for a home all-in-one that handles photos as well as everyday documents, start by comparing the HP Envy Photo 7275 and 7975. HP lists a dedicated photo tray and photo-formulated ink for both. The 7975’s documented workflow advantage is its ADF, which can feed multiple pages for scanning or copying without placing each page on the glass.

HP describes the Envy line as able to print borderless photos, but published feature descriptions do not establish how the models perform in independent image-quality tests, how long prints last, or what a photo costs to produce. Treat the recommendations here as feature-based, not lab rankings.

Can an HP Envy print 4×6 photos?

HP Support’s specification for the Envy Photo 7200 series lists a 15-sheet photo tray and supported photo media including 10 × 15 cm (approximately 4 × 6 inches) and 13 × 18 cm. Check the support page and retailer listing for the exact model and regional SKU you intend to buy; a series specification should not automatically be assumed to apply to every similarly named product.

Is an HP Smart Tank good for photo printing?

A Smart Tank may be worth considering if refillable ink and frequent everyday printing matter more to you than choosing from HP’s specifically photo-oriented Envy options. HP India positions the Smart Tank 670 for creative and everyday printing and the 790 for home/work productivity. Its India comparison differentiates models by connectivity, duplex printing, and ADF; it is not a US model comparison.

HP’s included-page estimates on that India page are manufacturer claims for those regional models. They should not be treated as universal yields or transferred to a US product. The cited information also does not establish independent photo-quality results or cost per photo. Check the exact model and regional specifications on HP India’s Smart Tank page.

What to check before buying an HP photo printer

  • Exact model and region: Match the complete product name and SKU to the manufacturer’s local page; features and supplies can vary across markets.
  • Photo sizes and tray: Confirm that your intended paper size, including 4 × 6, is supported for that exact model, and check the photo-tray capacity if you plan to print frequently.
  • Document workflow: If you scan or copy multipage originals, check for an ADF. Confirm automatic duplex and input capacity separately if they matter to your routine.
  • Ink compatibility and cost: Verify the replacement ink part number for your regional SKU and compare current local supply prices. HP’s model comparison includes different cartridge types and yield figures by model, but the available specifications do not establish a dependable cost per photo.
  • Photo paper: Check printer compatibility and media size before buying paper; a 4 × 6 label alone does not confirm that every paper type or finish is supported.

HP describes Instant Ink eligibility and automatic delivery, but plans and prices depend on current terms and location. Check HP’s local service page for current availability rather than assuming a particular plan applies.
