The GeForce RTX 5060 is one option in a crowded midrange class, not an automatic value winner. Compare its current local price with the exact Radeon RX 9060 XT variant and Intel Arc B580 listing you can buy, then weigh performance in your games, target resolution, VRAM, and preferred features. The RTX 5060 has 8 GB; the RX 9060 XT is sold with either 8 GB or 16 GB; and the Arc B580 has 12 GB. Memory capacity matters, but it does not by itself determine frame rates or value.
Which graphics cards belong in the RTX 5060 comparison?
The closest alternatives in this class are the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT and Intel Arc B580. The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is a possible step-up comparison, but whether it belongs in your budget depends on its actual price. NVIDIA announced the RTX 5060 at a starting price of $299 in May 2025; Tom’s Hardware listed launch MSRPs of $249 for the Arc B580 and $299 and $349 for the RX 9060 XT 8 GB and 16 GB, respectively. Those are historical launch prices, not current street-price guarantees. NVIDIA’s launch announcement and Tom’s Hardware’s RX 9060 XT comparison provide the context.

How do the RTX 5060, Arc B580, and RX 9060 XT perform?
There is no single benchmark percentage that settles every matchup. Reviews use different games, settings, and test systems, and individual results can depart sharply from an aggregate. Keep each figure attached to its source and test context rather than combining unlike review results.

RTX 5060 versus Arc B580
TechSpot’s 2025 test suite put the RTX 5060 6% ahead of the Arc B580 in its 1440p aggregate. Tom’s Hardware’s 2026 GPU hierarchy reported a larger RTX 5060 lead over the B580: 24% at 1080p and 17% at 1440p. These are results from different suites and dates, not competing measurements of an identical test. GamersNexus also showed game-level variation: in its 1440p Dying Light 2 results, the B580 beat the RTX 5060 in average frame rate and lows. See the respective TechSpot RTX 5060 review, Tom’s Hardware GPU hierarchy, and GamersNexus RTX 5060 review.
RTX 5060 versus older GeForce cards
In TechSpot’s 2025 suite, the RTX 5060 was roughly on par overall with the RTX 3070 and RTX 4060 Ti at 1440p, and 27% ahead of the RTX 4060 in that review’s aggregate. Individual 1080p results against the RTX 4060 ranged from an 8% uplift in Star Wars Outlaws to 45% in God of War Ragnarök. These figures describe those games and that test setup; they are not a universal performance uplift for every title.

RTX 5060 Ti as a nearby upgrade
GamersNexus found the RTX 5060 generally 15–25% behind the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB across its tested resolutions. That review said it purchased RTX 5060 samples for $330 and $360, respectively from Newegg and Taiwan, and chose to analyze those purchase prices rather than MSRP. Treat both the performance gap and purchase prices as specific to that review, not a promise about current listings.

Is 8 GB enough for 1080p or 1440p?
Eight gigabytes can be adequate in some games and settings, but it is not a guarantee of trouble-free 1440p. TechSpot reported 1440p cases in which 8 GB cards had performance problems or missing textures. The effects depended on the game and settings, so this should not be read as a claim that all 8 GB cards fail at 1440p.

If you play at 1440p, check benchmarks for the specific games and quality settings you use, and look for reports of texture or performance issues rather than relying on average frame rates alone. The RX 9060 XT 16 GB and Arc B580 12 GB offer more capacity than the RTX 5060, but VRAM capacity alone does not prove either card will be faster in a given game. The RX 9060 XT’s 8 GB and 16 GB versions should also be identified separately when comparing prices or test results.
Quick Recap
Rank #4
- Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4 OC mode: 2640MHz/Default mode: 2610MHz (Boost Clock)
- Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability
- Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris

How should you choose between these cards?
- Check the price you can actually pay. Compare current local listings for the exact model and memory version. Launch MSRP is useful history, not a value verdict. A PC Gamer US price-watch snapshot from October 2026 showed specific listings of $515.34 for an RTX 5060 and $499.99 for an RX 9060 XT 16 GB. These were individual listings, not average or guaranteed prices; the tracker also includes UK listings, which should not be mixed into a US comparison. Check its dated price-watch page for listing context.
- Match the benchmarks to your resolution and games. A 1080p aggregate may not describe your 1440p experience, and an overall average can conceal a game-specific win or loss. Prefer like-for-like results from the same review suite when comparing two cards.
- Name the exact VRAM variant. The RTX 5060 has 8 GB, while the RX 9060 XT is available with either 8 GB or 16 GB. A listing labeled only “RX 9060 XT” is not enough to establish which version you are comparing.
- Decide how much you value features and ecosystem. NVIDIA advertises DLSS and ray tracing for its RTX 50-series family. Consider the games and features you use, but keep marketing or feature availability distinct from measured frame rates in independent reviews.
- Recheck the upgrade gap. If a 16 GB card or RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is listed close to the RTX 5060, compare its tested performance and capacity against the extra cost. If the RTX 5060 is substantially cheaper, that can change the value calculation.
Which card should you buy?
- Choose the RTX 5060 if its current price is attractive to you, its performance in your games is sufficient, and 8 GB fits your resolution and settings. Its benchmark standing is generally strong against the B580 in some aggregate comparisons, but game-level exceptions exist.
- Consider the Arc B580 if its local price is lower and its performance in the games you play is competitive. Its 12 GB is a capacity advantage over the RTX 5060, not a guarantee of higher frame rates.
- Consider the RX 9060 XT 16 GB if the price premium over the RTX 5060 is small enough and you want the larger memory capacity. Compare it with the 8 GB version only after confirming the exact SKU and price.
- Look at the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB when its actual price is close enough to make the upgrade worthwhile; GamersNexus’ tested performance gap suggests it can be a meaningful step up, but current pricing determines whether it fits this class.
